I haven't been as terrified as I am right now in a long time. Oh, a very long time.

I was afraid that this man would do something to my aunt before I even got there.

Flying there, I was truly ready for anything. I was willing to do literally anything to get my aunt back safe and sound. Because she couldn't leave me, she couldn't. She promised.

The sun was slowly setting and the sky turned blood red, which made me even more scared.

I ran out immediately after hearing that news, only hearing Mr. Stark start after me, but I lost him when I ran up the stairs instead of the elevator to save time. Once outside, I quickly changed into my clothes, and now I was on my way to Manhattan.

It felt like it was taking me hours to get there! But in reality, I was at the tower at exactly one minute before seven.

I frantically began looking around when I suddenly spotted a door ajar at the back of the tower—a place rarely visited. I headed there immediately, prepared for him to be there. I was certain of it, because that door shouldn't be open.

I opened it wider, and the hinges creaked loudly. I winced, trying to be as quiet as possible.

I went deeper and the old door slammed shut behind me.

“Hello, Spider-Man.” As soon as I heard that voice, I immediately turned to the left.

There he was.

I automatically felt hot, and rage flooded my entire body. I wanted to simply kill him. I wanted to do it, even though I knew I couldn't. But hurt him? I could already hurt him.

I moved towards him abruptly, clenching my fists, when he suddenly extended his hand, holding a white remote control with two buttons.

"I advise you to stop," he warned, placing his thumb on one of them. "One sudden movement and I'll press it. Do you know what happens then? Your May will fall from the very top of the clock."

He looked up.

I followed his gaze, even though I could barely see anything from here. But I still felt he was telling the truth.

My aunt was there. At the very top. In the middle of that one, huge, glass window.

The knot in my stomach almost stole my breath. If she pressed that damn button... I'd lose her.

NO.

I couldn't, I didn't even want to, allow that thought to enter my mind.

Inside the clock, a staircase led to the very top—I had time to notice it. The last rays of sunlight streamed in through the windows at the top.

I looked back at the psychopath who was looking at me, smiling maliciously.

“Take off your mask,” he ordered.

I did it without hesitation. I didn't want to test him. Oh no. I had too much to lose.

He started laughing even harder when I stood before him without my mask.

What the hell was so funny to him?

“What do you want?” I asked confidently. “What do you want for this remote?”

I glanced at the device in his hand for a moment.

I've never been as confident as I am now. I didn't even flinch as the sunlight fell directly on me, blinding my eyes. He stood in the shadows, smiling faintly.

I didn't take my eyes off his black eyes for a second. I had to stay alert. I didn't know what to expect from him.

He slowly raised the hand holding the device, still looking me straight in the eye. I didn't look away.
