I woke up to Mikey's light snoring in my ear. I was wrapped in a blanket, my nakedness hidden from the world. Last night had been amazing, and now as I stared up at him I couldn't help but smile. I quickly pecked his lips before sliding out of bed, throwing my underwear and bra back on, but throwing on one of his shirts. Mikey's parents work so I didn't have to worry about them seeing me half named in their kitchen.
As I walked downstairs I heard Gee's voice echoing in the kitchen. He was singing one of the songs we had written, I'm not okay (I promise). As I walked in the kitchen I saw him in front of the coffee pot, obviously, with his song book next to him.
"Hey Gee." I yawned, walking up beside him. His dark hair was messy and he had bags under his eyes, and indication that he had most likely been writing songs all night.
"Good morning." He yawned. Handing me a cup of coffee. I thanked him and sat at the island, taking sips every now and then.
"Did you finish a new song last night?" I asked. He nodded and smiled before taking a seat next to me. I've known Gee for 5 years now. In 7th grade every student was given a high school mentor, someone who was just suppose to be there for you and help you out. I had been given Gerard. Later when I found out that Mikey was his brother we all become really close. My mom would get upset that I would spend time with them on the weekends instead of her, but I didn't care. They were some of the only people I could be myself around.
"Yeah. Took me awhile to finish it." He mumbled. I giggled and took another sip of my coffee. After a few minutes of silence footsteps could be heard coming down the stairs. They were surprisingly loud, and after they stop a loud banging noise was heard, followed by an "Oof."
I got up, leaving my coffee on the counter. And walked over to the stairs to see what happened. Mikey was curled up in a ball at the bottom of the stairs, his foot though laying at an awkward angle.
"Are you okay?" I asked. He groaned and began trying to get up, myself eventually helping.
"I'm okay. I tripped." He said. I nodded and followed him into the kitchen. Gee was sipping his coffee, writing stuff in his notebook. "Do you have plans with Lilly today?"
"Actually, yeah. I'm going over to her place and then we're gonna go shopping. Nina's party is tomorrow and I need something to wear." I said, taking my coffee cup over to the sink and then refilling Gee's, then giving Mikey some also. I swear those boys and their coffee addiction.
"Oh yeah. I need to get something for that too. She said its a formal party right?" He asked. Nina had always been a high maintenance kind of person. She tries to say she's not, but we all know she is.
"Yeah. Her damn parents give her everything she wants." I muttered. Gerard chuckled but continued to look at his paper.
"Okay, well when you're done shopping you should stop by and watch our band practice. We need your opinion since we have a show coming up soon." Gerard said. I nodded and turned to Mikey.
"Drive me over there?" I asked, pouting and looking at Mikey with "puppy dog" eyes. He sighed and nodded before grabbing his keys off the table. "Gee you still got that bag of my clothes?"
"Oh, umm, yeah. They're in the bathroom." He said, pointing in the general direction of the bathroom. I walked to the bathroom, locking the door behind me. I grabbed the bag from underneath the sink and pulled out a pair of skinny jeans, quickly slipping those on before tossing the bag back into its spot. I'd just wear Mikey's shirt today, it was comfortable. I threw my hair up into a quick top knot, knowing Lilly would question my "sex" hair if I left it down. After, I walked out of the bathroom, Mikey was already standing by the door. He grinned and waved me over, opening the door. I walked up to him and placed my lips on his, wrapping my arms around his neck as he wrapped his arms around my waist. We kissed for awhile, my hands tangled in his hair as his hands rested on the small of my back.
"Knock it off you two. Yuck." Gee "gagged" as he walked past us. Mikey flipped him his middle finger and then guided my out of the house, opening my car door for me also. As soon as I slid in he closed it and ran around to his side, slipping into the seat. The car ride over was mostly silent, except for the sound of the air conditioner. When Mikey parked the car in Lil's driveway I turned to give him a kiss on the cheek.
"I'll see you at practice." I said after I kissed his cheek. He nodded and quickly pecked my lips. I blushed and opened the car door, getting out of the car and walking up to Lilly's door. The sound of Mikey pulling out of the driveway made me turn around to wave to him one last time before I walked into the house. Lillys house wasn't in anyway small, but it wasn't huge either.
Lilly's mom, Rachel, was sitting in the kitchen. She was reading the newspaper and drinking from a white mug, the aroma of tea filling the air. Her eyes looked up from the newspaper and rested on me, smiling in the process.
"Hello, Everly." She said, setting down the newspaper and coffee.
"Hey Mrs. Collins. Is Lilly upstairs?" I asked
"Yeah, she's in her room."
"Well, I suppose I'll go wake her up." I pushed myself away from the counter and made my way out of the kitchen, and up the stairs. Her room was the first door on the left, it always had been. The same pink and yellow L was still painted on the door. Without knocking I opened the door, finding Lilly curled in bed with a glass of what looked like sprite on her nightstand. She was definitely hungover.
I walked over to her bed and threw myself on it, making sure I was laying right on top of her. She kicked out at me and flung the covers over my head, almost suffocating me in the process.
"What the hell! You're such a bitch!" She smacked me and stood up, standing right in front of the bed.
"Well, don't just look at me, get ready! We're going shopping!"
