Sophia's POV

I sat there holding the letter in my hands.

"D as in... Donavan?" I sighed and cocked my head. "This motherfucking cockroach thinks that he has something to tell me?"

I sat the paper down and dug around in the drawer. I pulled out my 45 handgun. Fuck what Abel said. I've taken out people for less and this was the ultimate betrayal.

I stood up and grabbed my black trench coat. I quickly slipped it on and put the gun in my inside pocket.

"Spero che vi piaccia il sapore del figlio di puttana di acciaio!" ( I hope you like the taste of steel motherfucker)

I grabbed my shades and my purse. I'd already put the address in my phone so I didn't take the note. What the fuck did I need it for?

I got up and walked out the back door without anybody noticing I left.

I jumped in the car and put the address in the GPS. I followed the directions and I ended up pulling up to a restaurant. This was odd.

Wise guys don't do private business in public. I just figured that he didn't want me to meet in a private place. Maybe one of his business. This wasn't even his father's restaurant.

I got out of the car after slipping my shades on. I walked into the restaurant and took a seat in the back.

I took off my shades and flipped my hair.

"Excuse me?"

I turned my head and I saw a woman.

"Who are you?" I said dismissively.

"I'm the one who wrote you the letter."

I gave her a look. "Sit down." I pointed to the seat and she immediately sat down. I stared at her for a while. "Who are you? And what danger do you think I'm in?"

"If you're involved with Abel Tesfaye you're in more danger than you think."

"How do you know him?"

"After the incident at his old facility, Abel transferred into another one hoping that he could cure himself. I was his nurse."

"What's your name?"

"Natalie. Natalie Digatto. That's where the "D" came from. I suppose I could have written my full name, but just in case he found the note, I didn't want him to recognize me."

"You...you said "grave danger" I quoted the letter word for word. "You have been lied to and used without your knowledge."

"Correct. Abel broke out after something triggered his alter and if he is not taken back to the facility immediately... it is possible that he will lose himself completely."

"Alter?"

"Alter. It is term used when dealing with multiple personality disorder."

"So that's what it is. There's finally a name to it."

"Yes and when he broke out, he wasn't himself. He was-"

"Cain."

"Correct again. Cain and Abel fought for dominance one night and Abel lost. He is not in his right mind and I need you to tell me where he is now so that he can finish the treatment he needs and so he can get better."

"This whole time... it's been Cain?" I had tears in my eyes as I thought back to the night we shared in Italy. It was Cain master minding the whole thing. "Oh my god." My hands shook as I cried.
