Sophia's POV
"You look so beautiful in your wedding dress Nicole."
Amy and I were helping Nicole get ready for the wedding. We were in a tent since the wedding was outside in one of the gardens surrounding the church.
My father had already purchased my plane ticket so that meant that when Nikki said I do I had to get the fuck out of there without Donavan noticing.
I fixed Nikki's veil on her head.
"Venice's mother was being a complete bitch this morning." Nicole said.
"Well now you gotta make nice with the family, Nikki." I joked.
She gave me a look. "I can't believe Don is a fraud Soph. I really liked him for you."
"Come on now Nik. Today's about you. You and Venice." She smiled at me and nodded.
"I still can't believe that you can't even stay for the reception."
"I know I'm sorry. Amy said she was going to record everything for me. We can all watch it when we get together again."
"It won't be the same. I need both of you here." I hugged her.
"Come on don't cry before you go out there. You-" the wedding march song began to play. "Looks like that's your cue." I said to her.
"Already? Oh my goodness."
I grabbed my bouquet of flowers and handed Amy her's. Amy and I were wearing long light pink dresses and we carried pink roses and of course Nikki was carrying the white ones. We lined up and then walked out into the garden.
I walked down the aisle after the flower girl and Amy trailed behind me.
After a few seconds Nicole came down the aisle and Venice was so happy.
Watching them made me feel like I actually could give Abel another change. You see I'd never dreamed of marrying a man.
I've always wanted to build and empire. You know maybe take my father's place in the business.
The idea of being married never came to mind. I was too callous to ever consider it, but watching my best friend marry the love of her life gave me hope for myself.
I looked out and around in the crowd. I could see Abel smiling at me sitting next to Lamar.
Amy nudged me and smiled. She knew as well as I did. I loved him and I still did.
"I do." Nicole said.
" Poi avvalendosi della delega conferitagli a me io vi dichiaro marito e moglie. ( Then by the power vested in me I now pronounce you husband and wife.)"
" È ora possibile baciare la sposa.(You may now kiss the bride)"
Venice kissed her deeply and the crowd stood to their feet and applauded as the priest announced them as a married couple.
We clapped and followed them as they walked down the aisle together. I was honestly so happy for them.
I wanted to stay and celebrate, but I had to go.
"Nikki!" I yelled.
She turned around and came over to me.
"I love you, okay? I'm so happy for you, enjoy your honeymoon."
I kissed her cheek and I gave Amy a goodbye hug. After that I ran. I couldn't give Donavan the chance to catch up with me.
