Chi walked down the hold hallways. She had never been to Reiji's room but she had been there in the house long enough to know where most things were. She felt inside her mouth, her fangs were gone. Where exactly? She didn't know but her teeth were back to normal. Reiji's door to his room was slightly ajar but Chi didn't go in. She knew that would be rude and Reiji was clearly a man obsessed with perfection and rudeness. She lifted a hand to knock when...

"Come in." Said the voice of Reiji from inside. She slowly slipped into the room. "Shut the door." He ordered her and she did as she was told.

"Ayato said you wanted to see me." Chi said coming a little further into the room. She looked around and saw many different looking equipment. What they were used for Chi didn't really understand but they looked important.

"Yes would you like to explain to me how the large crack outside your room occurred?" He asked while delicately pouring tea into a small china mug.

"I'm not really sure of that myself. I got really angry at Laito and then the next thing I knew the floor was broken. I am truly sorry for what happened. It was not my intension to do that."

"I should hope not." He said walking over to the sofa and sitting down with his tea. He looked at Chi. "Did you expect me to make you one?"

"No."

"Then why are you still here?"

"Because there is something I would like to ask you." Reiji was silent and he placed his tea on the coffee table and stood up.

"You have shared your blood with all my other brothers except me and yet I am the one you have the audacity to come to for answers."

"Well it's not like I wanted them all to drink my blood." Chi said feeling a little defensive. Reiji glared at her. "Look whatever is happening to me...could very well concern all of you as well."

"I doubt the problem of a mortal will concern the sons of the head of vampires." Chi eyes widened.

"Your Father is...I never knew that."

"It would seem there are many things you do not know." Said Reiji approaching her. Chi sighed knowing what he was coming for. She didn't want him too and Kanato would be mad but if it meant that he would give her the information she needed then she was willing to make that sacrifice. She needed to know what she was. She had to figure it out, otherwise Yui could be in danger from herself. "It seems Kanato has taught you your place well." Reji said as he bent down and took a bite from her neck. Chi stared off into space as she felt blood leaving her body. She had gotten used to the feeling and the pain that comes with it. It only hurt more if she fought it, she had learned that the hard way.

"Have you ever heard of a human/vampire hybrid?" She asked suddenly. She felt Reiji stop drinking, she had caught his attention. Good, she thought. Reiji pulled away from her and returned to his seat.

"I would not think such a thing exists. There are many ethical problems with it."

"So you've never read of anything like it?"

"I haven't but that doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. Do you believe you might be one?"

"I don't know. I mean I always believe I was human, I have always been human but since I came to this house things have been changing. Several of the others have told me that my blood doesn't seem all human. Shu..."

"Do not mention that name in my presence." Reiji said angrily.

"Right, sorry. Anyway he told me that there was something inside me, something that was awakening. Then there was that things with the floor, that's never happened before and then this morning I...I smelt Yui's blood..."

"And you desired it?"

"Yes but not only that...I grew fangs."

"Such a thing truly is imposable."

"But it's not because it happened. I cut my fingers on them, I saw them in the mirror. I need to know what I am and I figured that if anyone in this house knew anything about this it would be you." Reiji adjusted his glasses thoughtfully.

"If I were to believe this ridiculous story then it might be possible that the thing that is awakening inside is a vampire. I have never heard of such a thing but the fangs may have grown because the smell of Yui's blood made you thirsty. They would then go again once that hungry has subsided. Either way it is something I am willing to look into, if it was true then your social standing here would improve a little as you would not be the mere mortal we all thought you were."

"Do you think that there is anyway I can get this vampire inside me to do back to sleep so that I could be human again?" Chi asked.

"Why on earth would you want such a thing?"

"Because...if this were true I would be putting Yui in danger and she is someone I vowed to protect. I can't protect her if I myself are a danger to her."

"The lengths you will go to protect that girl are astonishing. It might be possable but it might not, you have to ask yourself what awoke it in the first place."

"Being in this house...a house of vampires." Reiji nodded slightly.

"It may have been triggered by having contact with other vampires. In which case it will not go back to sleep while you are in this house."

"What will happen if it doesn't go back to sleep?"

"I cannot say because I do not know, it could end in your death. I will notify you if I find anything of interest."

"Thank you." Said Chi as she turned and headed for the door. It was strange that she had just made and agreement with the one person she never thought she would...Reiji...
