Something dangerous

I have something to tell you Yui...

Chi was walking through the gardens by herself. School had finished but she didn't remember anything about it. Her mind was in another place all day. She continued to think about her conversation with Reji. The more she thought about it the more it seemed correct. She hadn't told Yui but she planned too, her sister needed to know. Chi reached into her back pocket and pulled out the photo of her and her Father with Yui next to them. It would make sense that of she was part vampire why she would be covered in blood and why her Father held her with such disgust. He used to be a vampire hunter after all, having one for and adopted daughter must have been weird for him. Even so who's blood was that? And why had her Father accepted her if he knew what she was? She felt like she only had half of the picture but it was better than the nothing she had had before. She heard a small wimpier and instantly looked up. It sounded like Yui's, was she in trouble? Then she spotted it. She saw Subaru, he was holding Yui and he was attached to her neck. Chi felt rage build up inside her. This was not happening on her watch. She walked over to them as quickly as she could.

"Subaru that's enough." She said. Subaru looked up and was surprised to see her, he hadn't even heard her approach. What was it with this girl? Everyday she was becoming more silent, more deadly and more powerful. He could feel it, there was great power sleeping inside that girl and it was slowly waking up. He let go of Yui and she ran to her sister. Chi hugged her sister but glared at Subaru. He remained eye contact for a little while and then turned and left not being able to stand the look in her eyes.

"Chi I'm so glad your here. I've had the worst day."

"Why? What happened?"

"Well I found out that the triplets killed their own Mother." She said expecting a reaction from Chi but one never came. "You don't look surprised."

"I already knew. Kanato told me the other day." 

"And you didn't tell me?"

"I thought that it would only freak you out. You had enough on your plate, you know with the chest pains you keep having."

"What? So you just kept it from me?"

"Yes I did. Look I'm sorry but I have something I need to tell you...but you have to promise that you won't freak out."

"Okay?" Yui asked with a slight frown. Chi took a deep breath and let it out slowly.

"This is going to sound weird...scary and impossible all at the same time." Chi took another sharp breath. "The thing is these last few days I've been changing. Ever so slightly but something is happening to me. I think that...with Reiji's help I might have figured out what that something is."

"So what is it?"

"That I might be part vampire." Chi said quickly.

"What? That's impossible."

"That's what I thought but it's not. I mean Shu told me that there was defiantly something inside me. The brothers have been telling from the start that's I'm not all human I just didn't want to believe it."

"So what exactly made you believe it was true now?"

"It was this morning. When I saw your finger was bleeding...the smell of your blood."

"No." Yui said taking a step back.

"I know and I'm sorry, I really am...it's not just that either...after I left I went to the bathroom and...I had fangs...they somehow grew because I was thirsty and then they disappeared again when the hunger vanished. It also explains why the other day you smelt different...I guess I was smelling your blood...that's what made you smell different."

"No it can't be true."

"I don't want it to be true but all the signs are there. I mean look at the photo of Father, you and I when I was a baby. I'm covered in blood, if I where somehow connected to vampires it would a little sense as to why I was like that. Look there are still many things that I don't know, like why I was covered in blood, or who's blood it is, or why exactly our Father still took me in if he knew what I was. He used an ex vampire hunter so it would make sense at why he would be so disgusted with having one in his care, not to mention bring me up in a Church. Seems kind of twisted doesn't it?"

"I guess but even so why is this vampire thing happening now?"

"Reiji thinks that it might be because we came here and contact with other vampires as awoken it or something like that but he doesn't know for sure. He's never heard of anything like a possible human/vampire hybrid before. He doesn't think that it's even possible but he said he would look into it."  

"So...do you want to drink my blood like the brothers do?" She asked with a shaky voice.

"No, I would never hurt you." She said making Yui relax a little.

"I wouldn't be so sure about that little bitch." Said the voice of Laito. Chi whipped around to see the three triplets stood there watching them. "It's a vampires nature to drink blood and if what you say is true that makes Yui your new found pray."

"Either way stay away from her, her blood belongs to yours truly. I don't care if you are her so called sister." Said Ayato.

"I'm not going to hurt her." Chi said with a determined face on.

"It would explain why I never seem to hear you approach." Said Subaru appearing beside Chi and Yui. "And why your here in the first place."

"What are you talking about? I thought you said both Yui and I were sacrificial brides." Said Chi.

"That term only really applies to Yui, not you. We just thought you were here because she was." Said Shu as he lay in the tree above them.

"To be honest none of us really knew why you were here at all." Said Kanato speaking up for the first time. "If anything you were simply a side dish."

"What a commotion your all causing." Said Reiji from behind Chi and Yui.

"So is what she says true?" Asked Ayato. Reiji adjusted his glasses with his gloved hand.

"It is. From what I can determine soon the vampire that has been sleeping within her all these years will awaken and when it does she will become one of us. Until then she will remain in a state that is neither human nor vampire. Of course there is the option that she might very well die in the process."  

"Teddy does not wish Chi to die. Not if we are not the ones killing her." Said Kanato.

"A few moments ago I received a letter from Arnoldo Kurosawa. It informs me that he wishes to visit tomorrow night, to discuss Chi herself. I am hoping that he can enlighten us on this sudden change of events."

"Who is he?" Chi asked.

"Arnoldo is a close family friend and a politician like our Father. They work side by side." Reiji explained.

"I'm guessing he's a vampire then." She said.

"That is correct, though what a man of such high status knows of your situation is what baffles me. Either way he will visit tomorrow until we fully understand this situation I ask that no one make any rash movements..."
