Something dangerous

Until I can control myself

Chi walked beside Kanato, they were heading back to school to be picked up by the family limousine. Chi played with her long black hair, it had been short for so long that it was strange to see it so long. How would Yui act when she told her what happened? She was a vampire now, a full one and she had killed a man in her thirst for blood.

"Do you not like you're long hair?" Kanato asked seeing her playing with it.

"I'm not sure. I think it will take some getting used too if anything." She told him. "I might even cut it all off again."

"No. Teddy and I like it long."

"Okay then, I'll keep it." She said with a small smile. She spotted the limousine a few feet a away and she saw Yui stood by the gates looking around nervously. "Yui!." She called out knowing her sister was looking for her. Yui smiled in relief when she saw her and Chi began to walk quicker to get to her when she felt her hand be grabbed and pulled back. Kanato was holding it so tightly she thought it might break. "Kanato...that hurts." She said trying to break free.

"I told you to stay by my side. Don't be in such a hurry to run to another." He told her.

"But it's my sister."

"She is mortal. She is inferior to us." Chi's eyes widened at his statement.

"How could you say that? You know how I feel about her."

"Do you love her more than me?" Chi opened her mouth to speak but she didn't know what to say. She loved them both equally but Kanato wouldn't accept that answer and if she said he loved him more he would punish her for lying. "If you say yes I'll kill her." He said with madness in his eyes as he tightened his grip on her hand.

"No...please stop it." Chi begged him.

"I'll kill her. Nothing will stand in between us. I won't allow it."

"Kanato, it's not a good idea to aggravate her." Said the voice of Reiji as he appeared behind the two. Chi and Kanato turned to look at him as he fixed his glasses.

"And what would you know about her?" He asked him angrily.

"So black beauties a pure blooded vampire now huh?" Said Ayato as he sat on the school wall, high above the other three.

"If she's one of us now then why is it she still smells so good?" Laito said appearing right beside Chi with a blush on his face as he leant forward and licked the side of her face. Kanato pulled on Chi hand, pulling her away from Laito and into himself. Kanato glared at his younger triplet with hate filled eyes. Laito laughed in amusement at his angry face and shrugged walking towards Reiji.

"Chi!" Called Yui as she ran up to her sister when she realised she wasn't coming to her. "What happened to your hair?"

"Um...it grew." Chi replied. Yui took another step forward and lifted her hand up to touch Chi's jet black hair. As she did Chi could hear the blood rushing through her wrist, she could smell the sweet smell of her blood. It was so close all she had to do was bite...bite and drink. Chi could feel her mouth watering and her heartbeat speed up.

"I think it looks really nice." Said Yui, completely oblivious to what Chi was thinking. Chi snapped out of her state and looked at her smiling sister. How could she possibly think about drinking her sister's blood? A small laugh escaped from Laito lips as he watched the two.

"Why not just take it? It's not like she would be able to do anything about it."

"No." Chi replied quickly. Laito moved closer to her and took her chin in between his thumb and forefinger lifting it up so it was closer to his face.

"Oh come on, surely a taste won't hurt right?" Ayato jumped down from the wall and moved swiftly to stand between Chi and Yui.

"I don't care if you call her sister or not she belongs to yours truly." He said with a deep glare.

"Do you always have to be so loud?" Commented the sleepy voice of Shu as he stood leant against the wall. Chi gritted her teeth and pulling herself from Laito's grip with ease, something she wouldn't have been able to do before. Kanato still held onto her hand but his grip was less tight and he was silently watching everything un fold.

"Chi what's happening? What are they talking about? Please tell me what's going on." Yui said looking at her over Ayato's shoulder. Chi looked at the floor, too ashamed to face her sister while she told her what she had done.

"I-I drank human blood. I'm a vampire now...which is why my hair grew." She explained.

"That's okay. It means you won't die."

"No Yui it's not good. It's anything but good. I-I killed a man Yui. I didn't even know his name."

"No, no it can't be true." Yui said taking a step back.

"It is. I wouldn't lie about something like this." All eyes were on Yui as she took a step back.

"So then...you want my blood."

"Yes, I mean no no I don't." Chi corrected herself quickly but it was already too late. She could see the fear in Yui's eyes. "I think it would be best if you and I stayed apart for a little while...at least until I've got this under control."

"S-so you're leaving me?"

"No, of course not. I'll always be there for you but right now I think I'm more of a danger to you than any of the brothers are. I don't seem to be able to control myself...I might unintentionally kill you."

"I don't believe you would do that."

"Thanks for the vote of confidence Yui but you might be putting too much faith in me. You can't trust me right now."

"You told me you would never hurt me."

"I know and i meat it which is why separating for a little while is the only option we have. I don't want to hurt you." Chi said quietly.

"I still see you right?"

"Yes...we'll still be living under the same roof so that's inevitable."

"H-how long?"

"I don't know." Silence fell between them and the brothers didn't speak either. It was Reiji that broke the silence.

"I have been doing some research on half breed's. The reason she still smells appealing is because her blood acts as a power bank for us now. Drinking it will give us strength we haven't seen but of course we can no longer take it whenever we wish."

"Why the hell not?" Ayato said angrily.

"Because of the power she holds. If what I read was true she may be more powerful than any of use. Taking it against her will might prove to be dangerous and then of course there is this 'hybrids curse,' that was mentioned by Arnold Kurosawa yesterday." Reiji explained. Chi looked at her sister who was staring down at the floor with a sad face on. She felt terrible.

"Yes but of course Kanato will be able to take it when he likes. After all Chi's not going hurt hurt him is she?" Laito said with a sly smile. Chi turned away from him and looked at Kanato. His eyes were wide and his face was unreadable but Chi rested her head on his shoulder anyway. She was looking for comfort and he was currently the only one able to give it to her, she couldn't go to Yui...not anymore.

"Tch, how long are you planning to stand around and talk?" Subaru said angrily as he appeared behind Chi and Kanato with a scowl on his face and his arms crossed. Reiji fixed his glasses and sighed.

"I suppose that we really should be off." He told them and everyone piled into the limousine and rode home in silence.
