Jenna blinked awake slowly, the soft morning light leaking through her curtains. For a moment, she forgot anything was different. She felt warm. Comfortable. Someone's weight rested lightly against her stomach, an arm draped over her side.

Then she remembered.

And looked down.

Jaden—still in her body—was curled tightly against her chest, his face pressed gently into the fabric of the T-shirt she wore. His breathing was slow, soft, completely peaceful in a way she didn't often see on him.

His fingers were still curled lightly in the edge of her shirt, like he had fallen asleep holding on to her.

Jenna let out a tiny breath, almost a sigh.

Poor guy... yesterday must've wiped him out.

She brushed a loose strand of her own hair—now his—behind his ear.

"Jaden," she whispered carefully. "Hey... wake up."

He stirred a little, nose scrunching as he mumbled something incoherent and burrowed closer in reflex.

Jenna's cheeks warmed, but she gently shook his shoulder again.

"Jaden... it's morning."

This time he blinked, lifting his head slowly, sleep still fogging his eyes. It took him two whole seconds of staring at her chest before reality crashed back and he jerked away—too fast, almost falling off the bed.

"I—I wasn't—! I didn't mean to—!"
His voice cracked in her throat.

Jenna caught his arm before he actually toppled off the mattress.

"Relax," she said, her voice soft. "You were scared yesterday. Anyone would've clung to someone."

He swallowed hard. "...Sorry."

"Don't be."

She gave him a small, reassuring smile.

"Come on. Let's get ready. Today... we're getting answers."

Everything took twice as long as usual.

Jaden kept forgetting he had long hair and accidentally trapped it under Jenna's hoodie.
Jenna kept adjusting Jaden's shirt like it felt wrong on her broader shoulders.
Jaden needed help with eyeliner because his hands shook.
Jenna needed help fixing Jaden's cowlick because no matter what, it popped back up.

By the time they finished, they exchanged a look like:

We can't keep doing this forever.

The shop wasn't far—just a few blocks downtown, tucked between a coffee shop and a thrift store. The sign read:

Fortune teller Seeer of the future
Jaden stared at the door nervously.

"She's... legit, right?" he asked.

"We'll find out."

Jenna pushed the door open.

A small bell chimed.

The interior looked exactly like every fortune-teller setup ever:
• Lavender incense
• Velvet curtains
• Crystals everywhere
• A round table with mismatched chairs
• String lights hanging overhead

Except... something felt off.

Like a déjà vu they couldn't place.

A shadow moved behind the curtain.
