They say she's a deterrent.

They classify her as a military weapon.

Some believe she's an unreliable asset.

And most regard her as a monster.

But truthfully she's only human. As human as any of us really.

And being human meant making mistakes.

Being human is doing the wrong thing for the right reason.

Being human is doing everything possible to ensure your friends, family and community are safe.

The girl is apart of the Survey Corps - the dogs of the military.

A bitter chuckle, too dark for a child, was swallowed at the thought. But it's true.

Kaminari Moriko landed safely on an uneven tree branch, scanning the expansive forest. It appeared almost calm with no titans in sight. She couldn't stay long, there was work to do.

Using her 3dmg - 3 dimensional manoeuvre gear, henceforth 3dm gear - using the grappling wires to sling herself from tree to tree in search of a titan. The first one she came across was revolting, making her skin crawl and her face unknowingly scowls at the sight of the grotesque being.

It wasn't anything special, standing at ten metres tall. It mostly resembled a male with short brown hair, dead brown eyes and a fat bulging stomach. But the most unnerving aspect of this being was the disgusting permanent smile etched onto it's face.

Kaminari's hands quickly find their way to her swords, clipping in a fresh set simultaneously before using the wires to manoeuvre in front of the tian at neck breaking speed. Pressing a button on the handle of her weapons, releasing compressed gas from the canister for extra speed, plunging the deadly blades into the eyes of the beast. Blood spraying over my small eight year old body like a canvas.

The titan let out a deafening screech. Hands flew towards it's face to swat at the annoying girl. She retracted the blades from the eyeballs as they began healing themselves. Steam poured out of the eyeballs as they knitted themselves together. Titans were fascinating.

Kaminari couldn't ponder on it as another hand came towards her, and quickly swung around to it's neck, slashing through flesh, then using the wires to pull her to the safety of the trees.

The creature fell with a thud. Kaminari grabbed a handkerchief from the inside of her green cloak with the wings of freedom symbol on the back, wiping her face clean of the sweat when all of the sudden a deafening crash echoes. The ground shakes for a second before the forest is covered in a blanket of silence.

Expelling gas and using the wires, Kaminari raced up to the highest point at the top of the tree she was on. She placed a hand to the bark, not believing what she was seeing. Her body frozen, numb at the sight. Her throat and mouth felt dry leaving her gaping like a fish out of water, as she tried to comprehend the chaos in the distance.
