*Rachel's POV*
I braced myself as I pushed into that room.
"You need an appointment to see them!"A small, blonde, white woman yelled scurrying to stop me, but she couldn't move fast enough in her white high heels and pencil skirt to stop my unrestricted strides into their office. I was never gladder that I choose to wear the long skirts of my era than I was at that moment. This was no time for appointment courtesy. This was a time for action. I had loved Harry; with all my heart I'd loved him. No one could ever compare to him. Yet, somehow Misty seemed to love him more. They wouldn't let me go, but I would make damn sure they let her go. They had to let her go.
"You're supposed to have an appointment, Rachel."I cringed at the loud, stern voice echoing from nowhere.
"As long as you're here though, take a seat child."Came the calmer of the voices, a gentler tone than the cold one that had just spoken.
"I'd like to stand if you don't mind because this is very important."I said and even though I couldn't see them I could feel I had their attention. You never see them; you just feel their presence, its everywhere.
"Misty, she needs to go back to earth. Her soulmate, Harry, he's stuck and she wants to be stuck with him. Please let her go, please. He needs her more than he ever needed me."The silence that echoed around me was deafening as I felt them thinking. Thinking about their options about what they could do. I hoped they'd send her back. I couldn't let him lose the girl he loves twice; he didn't deserve to go through that pain again. He went through enough with me.
"We never wanted him to be unhappy, let us get her some guides."Said the harsh voice.
"So, she's going back?"I asked hopefully.
"Yes my child, she's going back."Said the gentle voice. I couldn't contain the squeal that fell from my lips.
"Thank you so much she deserves it, he deserves this. Thank you."I ran out of the room lifting my skirts high and not caring that my legs were on full display for all to see, that was quite scandalous in my day. I barrelled through the pristine waiting room, past the grumpy receptionist who glared at me, to go tell Misty the good news.
*Misty's POV*
I was lying on the floor of the endless white hall. It was nothing but endless white so bright I had to close my eyes. They stung from the brightness. I covered my face with my hands and sighed. I didn't want to stay here forever, I already missed Harry's frigid embrace. I missed how when he was embarrassed his cheeks would flush pink, his eyes would shift towards the ground and his voice would lower until only I could hear it. I missed him. I missed him so much. I held back the burning tears that threatened to spill out and down my face.
"Don't cry, we'll take you back to Harry."Said a small female voice. I felt thin, delicate fingers brush the hair off my face and opened my eyes to see two identical faces staring down at me. Their faces were rosy cheeked and round. Their eyes were vibrant blue and their dark brown ringlets were pulled back by pink or green bows. They each wore an identical blue and white lacy dresses with black boots tightly laced all the way up. They looked to be about 10 years old and dressed in the style of the 1880s or 1890s at the latest. They were too young to be here, why were they here?
"I'm Gabriella."Said the twin with the pink bow."This is my sister Heather, we're your guides back to earth. We just want to make sure you don't get lost."Heather tugged me closer to her.
"We knew Harry too; he was always really nice to us."She said in a whisper. So Gabriella was the talker of the two."We were friends, us and Harry. He made sure no one ever made fun of Heather for not talking very much and he gave us sweets, the good ones too. We really like him."I smiled letting her slip her small, frail hand into mine.
"I really like him too."I said."That's why I have to get back to him. He misses me a lot and I miss him too."
"We'll make sure you do!"Gabriella said grabbing my other hand.
"Wait, how are we going to get down?"I asked looking around at the door less white hall.
"Same way you got here."She said happily."We fly."The floor gave way underneath us and we were suddenly falling through the sky. I screamed until I felt someone pulling me back up. I opened my eyes, which had been tightly squeezed shut before, to see the expanse of blue sky before me dotted with fluffy, feathery white clouds.
"Come on, we have to get you home."Heather said tugging me up with her sister's help. They looked less solid now than they did before. Looking at my own hands I realized I did too. I looked like Harry. I was probably cold like him now too, would that make him stop loving me? No, he loved me no matter what, right?
