It was nearly three hours later when there was a knock on my door. A few moments later, Hayate-sensei, the Lord Third, my father, and Kakashi-sensei entered.

Their expressions were grim. "I'm going to be frank, Misaki," Hayate-sensei said. "Even though you clearly won and displayed immense strength, I'm going to have to disqualify you from the exams."

The neutral expression I had maintained since the fight cracked into slight anger. I felt my brows furrow and my mouth pull into a frown.

Before I could speak, the Lord Third—my master—cut me off. "That girl won't be able to move or try to use any chakra for a very long time; you could have seriously killed her." His tone was firm and absolute.

I was confused. Normally, everyone would have fought to the death; she had never yielded, not even once.

"Until further notice, you are also suspended from missions and will be placed under house arrest," my father stated. He gave me a look that signaled he didn't want to hear my side—or perhaps, he simply couldn't.

"I don't understand why I'm being punished for fighting to the best of my capability. Is that not what I was supposed to do?" I asked, barely keeping the anger out of my voice.

The men tensed at my tone. "But you had nothing but murderous intent behind it, Misaki," Kakashi said angrily. "And as the Jonin responsible for you and Team Seven, I am ordering you to stay away from them until they feel comfortable. Sakura can't stop crying, Naruto is—for once—speechless, and Sasuke is furious."

The Lord Third then reached out, took my headband off my forehead, and commanded me to stay inside the room until someone could escort me out. All of them, in their own way, used their anger and disbelief to show me how disappointed they were.

As the door closed behind them, I lost it. My world faded into shades of grey. Furniture was thrown and holes appeared in the walls as I kicked, screamed, and tried to break everything within my reach.

Time seemed to stop as I looked at the wreckage in front of me. Before long, the door opened and closed.

"Look at the mess you've created, Misaki."

It was a woman's voice I knew all too well. A low growl emitted from my throat.

"Get the hell out," I spoke harshly, turning my gaze toward her. She stood 5'7" with brown skin, long straight hair, and amber eyes that stared back at me with amusement.

She chuckled and walked toward me. "I'm your escort. They decided maybe I would be better off taking you back to that apartment of yours, but before that..." She paused, digging into her weapon pouch and pulling out metal bracelets and what looked like a collar.

In an instant, she pinned me against one of the broken walls. I tried to fight her off, and we struggled for five minutes before she finally managed to cuff them on me.

These were chakra restraints.

"They decided it would be best to use these. They don't know what you're capable of, my sweet 'demon child.' And look at those small horns of yours!"

She grabbed a small mirror out of her bag. My eyes were a bright, solid white with a blue line running down vertically, and small black horns were forming on the sides of my head.

I was in shock, but before I could speak, a sharp pain entered my arm. Glancing down, I saw a huge needle buried in my skin.

"Don't panic, my 'dear.' I simply put a sedative in your system," Kanna stated cheerily. "Can't have them piecing together everything I've worked for. And look! You're back to normal now."
