Chapter 12: Thank You.

*Ashes p.o.v*

The next morning I was washing my hair in the shower when Stone knocked on the door and told me that everyone was going out to do something or another, I'm not sure, and he wanted to know if I wanted them to wait up for me. I wasn't really up to going to a group outing so I declined but the next words out of his mouth made me wish I had decided to go with them. C.C obviously didn't want to go either because he was staying on the bus also, I knew I needed to talk to him so I just okay. Me, Dahvie, Stone, and C.C were the only ones who knew we were no longer together. I sighed and shut the water off before towel drying my hair and putting on black ripped skinnys with my normal combat boots and a gray panda sweat shirt. Last night had been awkward, instead of sleeping in the same bunk with C.C I slept in the back room with Stone, it wasn't weird we were family but I did have to tell him why I wasn't sleeping with my 'boyfriend'. I walked out and passed C.C's bunk, I thought about ignoring it but I knew I couldn't. "C.C we need to talk." I said facing him, he looked at me startled that I had acknowledged his presents. He sighed and nodded while swinging his legs off the edge of the bed, "Look, before to say anything, I'm really sorry! I know I had no right to accuse you of cheating!" He said looking at me so sadly. No matter how crestfallen he looked I needed to tell him what I had to say without sugar coating it, "No you really didn't C.C.-" he looked like he was about to start talking so I cut across him. "No, let me get this out. You know how I was before we started dating, I was terrified to go out with you, and then you see me becoming friends with Dahvie and Jayy and you have the gal to accuse me of cheating? What the hell were you thinking Coma?" I ranted feeling slightly better now that I had got that off my chest. He looked down shielding his face from view. "I was scared, I was scared that you would leave me for Jayy. I noticed that every time you needed comfort you went to either Dahvie or Jayy, maybe even Blade but rarely ever me. And it made me realize that maybe we weren't cut out for dating, but I wanted it to work so badly! And then I saw you with Jayy and I snapped, I had no right and Im sorry, I should have told you my feelings instead of accusing you of something so farfetched." He whispered looking at me, I was shocked but I could find nothing but truth in his words, I nodded "Your right and I'm sorry too. I should have made an effort to be with you." I said sitting beside him on the bunk, "So no hard feelings? We can go back to being friends and only that?" He asked looking at me hopefully. I smiled back at him, "I'd like that." He grinned and hugged me, "So when are you and Monroe going on your first date?" He asked smirking at me, I gasped "What do you mean?" I asked indigently though I couldn't keep the laughter out of my voice when I realized he was just teasing, this is how it needed to be, me and him laughing, and joking like friends. "Oh don't play dumb with me! I know you like him!" He yelled laughing. I giggled and pushed him off the bed, "HEY!!" He shouted from the floor still laughing. I was now doubled over tears running down my face. "Oh so now your going to laugh at my pain?! What kind of friend are you?!" He shouted at me though there was laughter in his voice, I finally calmed down enough to help him but I was still letting out a giggle every few seconds. He mock scowled at me, "Your a meanie." He said pouting, "Awwww I'm sowwy C.C!" I yelled hugging him, he laughed again, "Alright anyways, I'm serious though when are you going to admit that your head over heals for him?" He asked after we calmed down. I sighed I knew I was going to have to answer this but I was honestly not sure, I shrugged, "Truthfully, I'm not sure i DO like him." I said as C.C cast me a dubious look, "What?" I said laughing, "I've never thought about it, I mean Dahvie brought it up the day we broke up but I didn't think anything about it." I said getting a little defensive, he nodded, "Well when you finally figure it out I want to be the first to know!" He said squealing like a girl. I raised an eyebrow at him, he blushed and mumbled something, "Whats that? I didn't hear you!" I informed him smirking, "I said the whole matchmaker thing has really grown on me." He admitted while I clapped my hands delighted! I might get a partner in crime! "Well what about you and Kathryn!" I asked bumping my shoulder into his, snickering when I saw his cheeks painted a rosy red. "What about me and Kathryn?" He mumbled playing dumb, I snorted I have been playing this game since I was ten, so thats 14 years, I noticed stuff like this. Especially if its about two of my friends. "Don't play dumb with me, when are you going to admit your head over heals for her?" I asked quoting him a bit while smirking, he narrowed his eyes at me, then to quick for me to comprehend he was tickling me. "NO! Hahahaha stttop st-st-stop! Please! I-I-m s-s-sorry!!" I gasped out between laughter, "Say Christian is the most awesomest person alive!" He laughed smirking down at me. "I must not tell lies!" I laughed out, quoting Harry Potter. "Then no!" He said not losing concentration, "Christian is the most awesomest person alive!" I yelled gasping when he finally stopped. I looked up at him glaring while C.C just smirked at me. "Your a faggot!" I informed him no real venom in my voice, "Im sowwy Ashes!" He said while pouting and batting his eyelashes at me, I scoffed "That ain't gonna work with me Coma!" I yelled pouting at him. He laughed and I eventually started up too.

Me and C.C were sitting at the table in the front of the bus laughing our asses off at something when the others walked in. "HIIIII!!" I shouted waving at them. They all gave me weird looks before laughing also, "So me and Ashes have to tell you guys something!" C.C yelled getting everyone's attention, I stood up along with C.C. I dramatically cleared my throat before dropping the bomb, "Me and C.C broke up." I said bluntly, everyone except Jayy, Dahvie, and Stone gasped. I could have sworn I saw a flash of relief go across Jayy's face but it was so fleeting I thought I imagined it. "Why?" Andrew asked coming and sitting on my lap, I shrugged "We realized we didn't work as a couple." I said directions the answer at her but was talking to everybody. "So have you been working on any songs?" Amelia asked sitting down along with everyone else. I nodded, "Yeah I finished a song last night, it's called stand in the rain, want to hear it?" I asked, they all nodded so we got up and went to the cars. When we got there we went straight to the music room but not before the lady at the desk glared at us. I gave everyone their sheet music and we started. "She never slows down, she doesn't know why but she knows that when shes all alone feels like its all coming down. She won't turn around, the shadows are long and she fears that if she cries that first tear, the tears will not stop raining down. So stand in the rain! Stand your ground!
