For the past week, Jane and I continue to keep our mutual friendship. I tried not flirting with her, well too obviously anyways. She, in return, tried to help me get over Marie. I think its working? I’m not too sure anymore.

“What’s the first thing that pops in your mind?”

“Chicken.”

“Any specific reason?”

“I’m starving.” She smacks me in the back of the head softly with her notebook.

“Hey! What was that for?” I whined.

“For giving a stupid reason.” She laughed. My head was on her legs while she sat back and relaxed on her little sofa, resting my psychology book on her chest, a notebook at her side.

“Well you’re not supposed to hit the patient for a stupid reason!”

“Well how do you know? You’re not taking psychology.” She gave a smug look, assuming that she had won this argument.

“But I’m pretty sure psychologist don’t hit their patients.” I looks up at her into her caramel eyes, returning a smirk.

“…Touché” she says with a smile, slamming the book closed and tossed it aside.

“I get accepted to an arts school and I’m forced to take psychology.” she grumbled.  I went with her to enroll, and they told she had to take general education for two years before she can actually get started on her major. She wasn’t that happy about it.

“Well why didn’t you take Chemistry or something? I mean, that WAS one of the options, wasn’t it?” I point out.

“Because I sucked at it in high school, what makes you think I’ll get better at it now?” I shrug and look up at my phone that I was holding over my head. But I didn’t do anything, just stared at the empty screen like if I was reading a message.

“Plus, I get to help people mentally with their internal problems and stuff.”

“And stuff?” I look up at her and give a smirk.

“You know what I mean!” she messes up my hair and I give a girly squeal.

“My hair!” she laughs and stands up and head off to the kitchen.

“I swear you’re worse than Zayn.” she mumbled.

“No I’m not!” I answered quickly, making her laugh. I smile to myself and look at my phone again. She changed my background of me and Marie, to one of me, her, and Liam, who’s making faces in the background when we went to the beach. She kinda threated me that if I changed it back she will break my phone. But I like the photo either way. I looked at the photo mesmerized by the way her hair flowed with the wind and how her eyes where lit up with joy. Liam on the other hand looked like an idiot making a duck face.

“Yo, you want cookies?” yells Jane from the kitchen. I snap out of my daze and set my phone down.

“Sure!” I yelled back. She comes out seconds later holding a box of Oreos and a huge glass of milk.

“Aw yea I love Oreos!” I yelled. She sets them down on the coffee table and sits next to me. For a minute, we munched on our cookies in silence.

I got a pocket, got a pocketful of sunshine…!

I was about to take a spit take with Oreos, as the song appeared to blast around the room from no were. I was able to swallow what I had in my mouth before busting into laughter.

“Shit.” Jane mumbles to herself and she runs to her room to turn off the annoying song which I soon found out was emanating from her room.

”I love your ring tone!” I managed to yell without laughing.
