Chapter 23

 We were watching some foreign movie on T.V.

 “Jane, someone is on the phone for you.” Calls out my mom from the kitchen. I go inside and see her fighting with a pot of boiling water. I picked up the phone on the counter and walk out into the hallway.

“Hello?”

“Hey Jane.” His voice comes over the receiver.

“Hi Geo.” I tried to say as normally as possible.

“Um, so I don’t have your new number, and I still have your house number.”

“Oh, yea, so…?” I said awkwardly.

“Yea, so how does hanging out at the movies sound?” something in my stomach stirred inside me.

“Yea, sure.” I said. How can he suggest the movies?

“Then it’s a date!” he says happily.

“Whoa, whoa, it’s not a date.” I said quickly. My mom’s clattering immediately stops and she looks out in the hallway.

“Oh… yea… sorry… I’ll pick you up at 3.” And he hangs up. I groan and hand the phone to my mom.

“Who wanted to take you out on a date?” she asks.

“Geo.” I growled. I walked in the kitchen and sat down by the counter.

“You’re not still hang up on him are you?

“I’m not! Any feelings for him I lost that day, all I have is anger towards him now. And I have Harry mom.”

“Yea, I know, it’s just since you came back from the salon yesterday you just seem so…” she trails off and looks up, thinking what to say.

“Irritable?”

“Yea, a bit.” She laughed softly. She serves me some spaghetti and smile.

“Don’t worry, everything will be fine.” I smile and I grabbed a fork and got started on my spaghetti. Once I was done eating and helping my mom clean up, it was already 2.

“Oh, you only have an hour! I suggest you take a shower.” Says Alex.

“I don’t wanna.” I complained. But Alex has become unbelievably stronger the past year so she was able to shove me into the bathroom. I sighed extremely loud and peeled off my clothes. Why would he want to go out with me? After all he’s done, he still has feelings for me? A beautifully evil plan popped in my head. My lips curled in a smile as I continue to wash off all the grime of the day.

I walk in my room and got my undergarments on then put on a robe.

“Alex! Come and help!” she walks in and looks at me as if I was loony.

“What for?”

“I need your help on picking out a cute outfit.”

“Are you ok? Do I have to remind you have a boyfriend?” I laugh loudly which makes her even more confused.

“I know, I just want him to get close, make him think he has a chance.” I smile evilly. She finally catches on and laughs.

“This is going to backfire on you so bad.”

“Hey don’t jinx it! Plus your gunna help me.” I cross my arms, giving a smug look.

“Why would I do that?”

“I’ll give you $20.”

“Deal.” I smile and hug her. We ended up choosing a white floral dress with a jean jacket, and brown boots that has no heels what so ever, not even a little one. Alex made my hair into beautiful beach waves that flowed down my back. I did my makeup and I hear honking outside. I stood up straight, got my things and headed out. Geo was leaning against his car, trying to look cool. Memories flooded to the front of my mind…
