Chapter 8 ~ By Royal Decree

"All rise for the honourable judges Seth Newman of the Satinistic Council, and judge Jeremiah Lane of the Faithe Council."

"Thank you Barrister"

"You are welcome Judge Jeremiah. All please be seated."

Seth then began speaking, "We are brought here today as witnesses and voters in the case of Rachel Thorn and James Sulivan. The delinquent known as Rachel Thorn has broken the a law known as 'Amor Prohibentur', Falling in love with a human. Due to laws against unproven Human relations, James must under-go The 7 trials so that he may be able be with Rachel intimately, Taking on these trials does not mean that James will become a vampre, they are just to prove he can cope with the 'Mythical Nature' of our two councils. James do you accept these terms?"

"I do"

"The Trials will be read out at the end of this hearing, but for now judge Jeremiah has another order of business."

"Thank you Seth, The Second order of business is for Rachel. When she left the Satinistic Council 10 years ago she was welcomed by The Thorns as a daughter and an asset, to this day she swears that she is part of the Faithe Council yet she has not taken it upon herself to Re-take the trials so that she is LEGALLY a member of the Faithe Council. Rachel shall under-go the trials aswell as James, All in favour say I,"

Most of the Courtroom, "I"

"all apposed?"

Thorn Family, "I"

"It's settled. Rachel will accompany James in the Trials. And now for the actual trials, I hand back over to Judge Seth Newman."

"Here are the trials and the order in which they are to be completed,

1) 50 man duel

2) The Fekete Rozsa Vadaszatra

3) The River of Zodiac

4) Synapse

5) Cup of Satan

6) Cup of Fate

7) The Eternal Drink

By Royal Decree I declare these Trials to Rachel And James. Begin!"

Me and Rachel were forced out of the court room by the barrister and then swiftly followed by the thorn family. Me and Rachel just glared at eachother,shocked by what Jeremiah had said and what the trials were. I could see it in her deep-blue eyes, she was terrified.

"Before i even explain any of the trials to you two, we must get to camp knox so we can begin training for the trials, plus we have got to fake James' death to his mother, I suggest suicide as the cause of death."

Before i could even comment Victor and the rest of the thorns except for Rachel just left. Victor really did mean he wanted to explain it to me so i didn't ask, i Just ran. 

We arrived at a large door marked 'EXIT', instantly i knew what this was but just to take the mick (and make light of the situation) i decided to ask where we were going and were it lead us. Amy and Ian Chuckled but i got nothing out of anyone else, not even Rachel.

Victor opened the door to which lead into the Scorched Feild were Rachel and I kissed. We sprinted at vampire speed to the Thorn House and Ithen proceeded to my house to pack some clothes and a book, hoping my mother wasn't in, which she wasn't. When i got ther i didn't even begin packing, I just sat at my desk and tried to write a suicide note. I had many attempts at this befor i finally wrote this, 

"Dear Mother,

Because my life is so bad and has been for the last six years sine annie died, i have decided i am going to take my life. I am going to be going away forever but a part of me will still be with you. I hope that you do not take it upon to yourself to follow my fashion, because everytime you try the part of that is still with you will stop you (plus i will haunt you for a couple of weeks). By the time you have read this note i will already be gone from this world.

P.S i have taken my most valuable things so that you do not have to deal with the memories of me  or at least the most powerful ones."

I cried three times whilst writing that but then stopped crying and continued packing. When i was fully packed i threw my rucksack out of the window onto the trampoline in my back garden. I heard a car pull up out side. I could tell it was my moms because the exhaust pipe had fell lose slightly and always made a loud banging noise on the curb outside of the house. Then i heard her key going into the door. I folded the note up and placed on my desk and then jumped out of my window, remebering to roll when i landed because i wasn't a full vampire yet. I grabbed my bag from off the trampoline and headed towards the back gate. When i knew she was inside the house i opened the gate, closed it behind me as i exited and ran as fast as my knew abilities could take me.

When i arrived at the thorn house They were all waiting outside for me so we just began running to camp knox as soon as i arrived. we were running for hours and i could see Victor getting tired but he carried on, saying that "we're almost there, we're almost there". When we actually arrived at "camp knox" i discovered it wasn't camp knox at all, it was stonehenge. we stood on the inside of the landmark and sat in a circle facing eachother. I didn't know what to do so i just leered after Rachel.

"Knox luminos"

Two very strange words from victor they were but i didn't worry because i knew it did something and that something was Thunder and Lightning. It teared the sky open and crashed on the land around us, I must say it was almost as frightening as learning what the trials were but before i could finish my thought lightening struck in the middle of us all and caused everyone to black out, First Victor, then Amy and Mark and Petricia, Then Ian, Rachel, Erin, Sian... and then me.
