Arrival

Finally, after emerging from hyperspace, General Grievous' flagship along with his frigate arrived at the planet Dorin. The planet itself looked peaceful from space; it consisted of mostly a purple shade of what could either be clouds or water, and dark green land.

Wherever the Nitonma was, we will find it, and bring enough back to strengthen our fleets. Grievous thought as he rose from his chair and walked towards the window to face the planet. No defenses were detected. The Kel Dorians were unaware of their presence. Exactly as I had hoped.

Asajj Ventress should be here by now, unless she has already started without me, why do I have to work with her again anyway? Grievous wondered as he stood waiting impatiently for her arrival.

"General, be advised there are two black holes nearby, the blockade must be set up cautiously," The commando droid said,

"Keep it close, but not too close, and in the safest area once you locate where those black holes are." He replied and walked towards the front of the bridge so he could see the planet better. Dorin seemed like an isolated planet and if there were black holes, then he was glad he had not brought a larger fleet.

"Waiting for your orders General," One of the battle droids,

Grievous let out a cough and decided it was best to perhaps get things started.

"Begin the invasion of this planet and deploy troops to the surface! Once the assassin arrives, we'll decide the best way to take all the Nitonma we can without interference from their people! If necessary, my army and I will make them suffer so my master gets what he wants, and perhaps it will attract attention of the Jedi!" He growled,

"But General, shouldn't we wait for her?"

"I said, deploy forces to the planet's surface! That's an order!"

"Yes General."

Grievous exited the ship's bridge and headed for the hangar.

No way am I missing out on this fight, he thought as he took the elevator down with his magna-guards surrounding him.

In the hangar, the vulture droids and other ships containing droid armies were starting to exit through the hangar's shielding. As Grievous walked towards his fighter, he spotted an odd-shaped fighter docked nearby; it was a white sphere with a single semi-circle red wing. Asajj Ventress stood waiting beside the cockpit.

"Well, looks like you're stuck with me again, General,"

Grievous wasn't impressed, "How did you get on board without being detected?"

"Oh, I know my way around. You still on for my plan?"

Grievous remembered her plan: According to Ventress, she wanted to send an elite team to retrieve the mineral while he was supposed to create a blockade around the planet so no Republic forces would interfere. Why does she get to have all the fun? No way am I missing out on stealing this mineral if the Jedi are there, he thought.

He growled in annoyance, "I will not sit here in space if the Jedi are going to be on the planet's surface trying to stop us! I will come with you and bring my droids, unless you have a better plan! I want to kill any Jedi that stand in my way!"

Ventress crossed her arms, "Any Jedi, General?"

Grievous paused and then he thought about Emi Takori again. She and Jedi like Kenobi were the ones he wanted to kill the most.

"Yes...any!"

The look on Ventress' face was as if she didn't believe him.

"Very well, if you don't want to miss out on all the fun, I'll let you retrieve the minerals with your little droids you like to play with. Perhaps something that will get the attention of the Jedi Council is if I get their attention with what I do best,"

"And what might that be assassin?"

"Oh you needn't worry General, you just do what you do best and I shall do the same,"

Grievous walked away and turned look out the hangar's large shield window as more ships began to exit the hangar and he made his way to his fighter. He called it Soulless One  and was proud to have it. It was a rather slick of a fighter with it's cockpit in the back and a large thicker part at the front. Grievous felt like its silver colour would signify his arrival on the planet perfectly. It's been a while since I used it but I think it'll draw some attention, he thought as he climbed inside the cockpit and looked across the room to see Ventress returning to her own fighter.

Inside he believed that he could do this mission without her, but he had no choice, hopefully Ventress had something up her sleeve. Let's hope that the Jedi that try to stop us involve Emi Takori as one of them, I want my revenge on her, and she will join the many others I have killed, he thought as he flew his fighter out of the hangar, and then followed the many ships towards the planet, as the larger Separatist frigates along with his own began to set up a blockade.

*******

Dorin's atmosphere was dark and dusty. The sky was a gloomy grey and there was very little flora and fauna to be seen. In a small village located near a series of dark mountains, a young Kel Dor child was running in the street playing with a toy Republic gunship. He was short and wore no mask revealing a toothless gap for a mouth and he made rather strange sounds as if simulating the toy gunship's engines.

The rest of the Kel Dorians were attending to their other needs until the sound of engines coming from real ships filled the sky. Hundreds of them were landing close by and on the horizon. The Kel Dor child dropped his toy gunship and ran inside. Soon it was not long before the other Kel Dorians took notice and one of them wearing Baran Do robes came out of his home.

"Separatists. Why are they here? We have nothing that they could ever want,"

A female Kel Dor standing nearby answered him, "What if they're looking for something to defeat the Republic in the war? Have you heard about that rare resource we found in the all the mines on Dorin? There is something about that ore; some say its indestructible,"

"Nitonma, yes, it is indeed a valuable resource. If the Separatists get their hands on it, the Jedi and their Republic allies will not be able to stop them,"

"What shall we do?"

The Baran Do robed Kel Dor stood confidently, "Get the families somewhere safe at once, I will contact the Jedi Council, we have one of our people serving there. He is a friend of ours and can send help,"

"What if the council doesn't listen?" The female Kel Dor asked,

Suddenly,  a red winged fighter landed on top of a small mountain nearby and Asajj Ventress emerged, wearing a glass gas mask over her face, and with four super battle droids beside her.

"Oh, I will make sure they listen," She said with an evil smile, and then she ignited her two curved lightsabers. The red blades were like blood cutting the sky, and she jumped down towards the village with her squad sending the inhabitants running.
