HELLO AGAIN READERS!!! :D Just to let ya'll now this will all be in the past, you guys get to meet Jade, her brother, and the Survivors, AKA the Group Damien talked about slightly :D So yes, this is some exciting stuff I know :) Now unto the story. Enjoy! Oh and this is a draft of the story, not my best writing... Lol. Sorry 'bout that, just ignore my poor grammar. Oh and by the way readers there is quite a few of different demons in my story, the one in the first chapter were once Lights which is why they look a like humans but the other demons are more monster like.
"He is dead" A cold emotionless voice said in the darkness. Damien's eyes were closed, he had recently woken up from passing out and he heard people walk into the house; for safety reasons he left his eyes closed. He wasn't sure how many, but he guessed 2 or 3 people came into the house. He was lying still, he wasn't positive if these guys were trying to kill him or help him and the voice seemed pretty creepy. "Come on lets go we have to search other houses." The cold voice said, 'Are these things planning on killing all the survivors' Damien thought. "No. He is alive! A higher-pitched voice said, a girl most likely. 'Huh, evil monsters won't likely have a girl with them." Damien thought, 'Maybe they were survivors.' He hoped. But he kept his eyes closed not knowing fully whether they were friends or foes, so he kept still as he could.
"He is dead. Look at him, he is covered in blood and bruises. Probably died fighting. Brave for such a little kid." The cold voice said, Damien heard very slightly the tone of admiration in their voice. Maybe they really weren't monsters, relief started flooding through his body. They said they were searching houses, maybe others were alive. Damien's heart leaped at the thought of not being alone. "He is breathing! He's alive! The girly voice said stubbornly but with excitement as well. With his eyes closed he didn't see it coming. Never saw as her hand pulled back and lashed out towards his face. Damien had heard people say being slapped doesn't hurt and the simple truth is they are liars, because being slapped hurt... a lot.
SMACK!
The girl's hand made contact with Damien's face and he nearly jumped out of his skin. He shot up with a yelp, his eyes opening wide and he gingerly touched his injured cheek. He stared as his attacker venomously. "Why did you SLAP me?!?" He yelled at her, rubbing his cheek. It stung badly and he was surprised that a girl could slap that hard. His cheek was most likely a burning bright red, and in the shape of her hand, he grimaced. "Well, why did you slap me? You know you could have just poked me, or given me a soft nudge, But slap? That was just mean." Damien said bitterly. The girl didn't seem affected by his anger though, instead she seemed happy. Suddenly Damien was attacked again, but this time by a huge bear hug. "You're alive!" the girl squealed while hugging him to death. "I knew it!" She said triumphantly, letting go of and looking at him. "So, who are you?"
Damien didn't really hear her, he was to busy trying to figure out who she was. She looked familiar and was probably a year younger then him, maybe 13 years old. She had straight black hair that went past her shoulders, her hair seemed so soft, Damien actually had to stop himself from reaching out to touch it. She was pale like most Lights are; somehow the sun didn't tan Lights much, even though they were outside often. She had emerald green eyes that were studying him quizzically. "Who are you?" he asked her, wondering where exactly had he met her in the village. The girl seemed to realize that he hadn't heard her question but she seemed okay with answering first.
"Me?" She asked, and Damien nodded his head. She smiled, a pearly white smile, "I am Jade!" Jade said happily, grabbing his hand and shaking it with enthusiasm. Her hands were soft; everything about her seemed to be soft, her hair, hand and her personality. "Now, since I answered your question you answer mine. What's your name?" She asked again, smiling.
'She was nice,' Damien thought happily, 'Wait what was her question?' He raked his mind for a second before remembering. 'Oh, yeah who am I? My name is... Ummm...' He tried to remember, but the more he tried the more it hurt his head. Damien lifted his hand to his head, feeling a bump beneath his hair and his hair was caked in blood. "I... ummm. I actually can't remember." Damien said puzzled. This caught the attention of a guy at the doorway. Damien hadn't even noticed him until he talked, it was the cold voice. "Let me see your head." He said emotionless, but commanding. Damien complied and he examined his head gently, probing the bump with his fingers. Even though he was gently, Damien's head throbbed with waves of pain. He must have hit his head, but he couldn't remember if he did.
