OK!!! This part is not the best writing I have done. Unfortunatly I could not find my drafts for this part of my story and therefore am relying only on memory and it won't sound as good as the rest. Sorry for that folks :( I will be rediting later though :D

(This is where the flashbacks start. :D)

He was chasing a small fox. There was nothing better to do that day and honestly Damien had taking one look at the fox's soft brown fur and big dark eyes and knew he wanted it as a pet. Even if it would probably eat all the meat he had saved for dinner that day. He just wanted a new pet since the last pet he had, a small fuzzy rabbit, had been eaten, or as his dad had put, 'ran away from home'. So to make this small animal his pet he had to catch it first, so Damien chased him though fields, giggling softly as the grass tickled his bare-feet.

Though Damien had been chasing the fox and full-run for 10 minutes he was not the smallest bit tired. He never felt tired ever, the sun beautiful radiant lights would energize him every second of the day. And since the sun never sets, Damien never grew tired. He was just a ball of never-ending energy, Damien let out a laugh at the thought. Unfortunately for the fox though it would grow tired, and Damien would catch it.

Being fairly close to the village, he knew the land very well and he chased the fox to an area full of giant boulders. The area was one of wonder because the rocks just seemed to appear there randomly. No evidence on how they got there and what had been there purpose. 'There's nature for yah.' Damien thought wistfully. The fox continued running not knowing that its path would soon be blocked by the large rocks.

Finally Damien cornered the fox, a bunch of boulders behind the fox blocked its path and he closed in. Leaning to the left to side swipe the fox, but the fox moved, turning to face Damien. He let out a small chuckle as the fox did the same thing when Damien leaned to the right. 'This could be fun.' Damien thought, a smile on his face. He leaned from left to right to left, the fox jumping to face Damien every time. Soon Damien was in a fit of giggles and fell to the ground laughing into the tall grass. The fox jumped into action, trying to leap over Damien. Damien moved quickly turning around on the grass and caught the fox mid-leap. "YEAH!!!" Damien cried triumphantly, "Gotcha my new pet! I will name you Runner!" Damien grinned, thrilled at his new found pet and 'friend'. He jumped up onto his feet and started to walk home, his thrashing prize in his hands. Damien looked down curiously at the squirming little fox in his hands. "You know your not getting away from me, so why even try?" He asked the little fox a frown on his face, "I am quite a likeable person you know," he sniffed, "mean of you to try to run away Runner." Damien let out a laugh and then suddenly stopped.

Something wasn't right, he could sense something was off and his whole body had gone tense. The fox-cacther glanced upwards and gasped. Up in the blue sky was a single cloud floating lazily across. A cloud!!! Damien's head throbbed, clouds aren't suppose to be real, never in his entire life did Damien ever see a cloud. Yet, here one was. More clouds were starting to form and as he watched the clouds started to blacken. Like black ink covering the entire sky slowly. Damien dropped his forgotten pet on the ground, the fox darting away into the forest, thrilled with its renewed freedom. Damien raced towards towards his village, fear pounded in his chest.

He ran as fast as his legs could carry him and the clouds followed covering any part of the sky in its way. Soon the entire sky would be completely covered and everything would be in darkness. He urged himself to run faster and for the first time his body was starting to ache from running. He was growing tired, his sides started to burn and he was getting out of breathe. But he still ran on, until he could see his village. Everyone was outside, bewildered looks on their faces as they watched the forming clouds. Finally he reached the square of the village just as the clouds blocked out the sun. Everything went black.
