Saturday, October 24th, 1925, 6.15pm.

Scott is lying in a hospital bed. Slowly he wakes up and sees a woman sitting next to him. Unknown to Scott, it's his Great grandmother, 19-year-old Nurse Betty Gale, who would later marry to become Betty Parker.

SCOTT
Mom, is that you?

BETTY
There, there, now, just relax. You've been asleep for several hours now.

SCOTT
I had a horrible nightmare, dreamed I went back in time, it was terrible.... It came out of nowhere.... 4-by-4.... Need to get...

BETTY
There, there now, take it easy, you've had some sort of accident, you've bumped you're head. You're safe and sound, now, back in good old 1925.

Scott, now wide awake, sits up suddenly! Betty leans towards him and tries to lie him down again. She looks very similar to young Jennifer, her future granddaughter.

SCOTT
1925? You're my ma- you're my ma.

BETTY
My name's Nurse Betty Gale, try to relax, you're probably concussed.

SCOTT
Betty? You look like my…

A confused Scott thinks and works out who she is.

SCOTT
Mom’s grandmother was called Betty... You look so much like her… Mom, I mean…

BETTY
That’s nice dear. Can you tell me your name?

Scott thinks for a second, he decides against giving his real name. He looks at Betty and says nothing.

BETTY
You’re probably need time to come to your senses. Is your surname Nike? It was written all over your shoes. Strange looking shoes at that. Made out of the strangest material. Let me get your chart. I’ll need to fill in the log. You take a moment to accustom to you surroundings.

Betty turns round and bends down at the bedside cabinet. Scott sits up in bed looks around the ward he’s in. There are beds full off sick patients around. Most of the patents are asleep and one is sitting up reading a newspaper. It is folded open as the patient reads. On it Scott can see a promotion for a new movie called Gold Rush starring Charles Chaplin. He looks back around and Betty stands up with a clipboard.

Scott says his name almost as a question.

SCOTT
Chaplin. My names Chaplin. Charles Chaplin!?

BETTY
As in the Hollywood actor, Charlie Chaplin? Wow, I best you get plenty of stick for that.

SCOTT
A little.
Scott is a little confused. He’s never heard of Charlie Chaplin before. Maybe he’s a bit young to have heard of him.

SCOTT
What’s the date?

BETTY
You must have hit your head hard. It’s Saturday evening. October 24th.

SCOTT  1925?

BETTY
Yes, Saturday October 24th, 1925. What’s the last thing you remember Mr. Chaplin? Before you woke up in hospital. Where were you? Who were you with? What were you doing?

Scott thinks fast. He realises he’s still in Hill Valley. He tries to sound convincing.

SCOTT
I was passing through the town. I was walking down the street, I stepped in the road and that was the last thing I remember.

Betty starts to make notes.

BETTY
So you were walking along a street. Where precisely in town were you?
