The next morning, Scott and Suzy are say goodbye to the family before setting off on their quest to find the Doc.

SUZY

Thanks very much for your hospitality Mr. McFly. You've been great.

SCOTT

Thanks for helping me out yesterday. I don't know what would've happened if you hadn't bailed me out.

WILLIAM

Don't mention it. It felt the right thing to do. There's something about you Charlie. I can't put my finger on it. It's as if you're a long-lost relative or something.

MARY

That's peculiar, because I sense that as well. If you have any trouble locating your friend, don't hesitate in popping back to see us.

SCOTT

I will do. Thanks for everything.

MARY

And you take care of yourself; I don't want you fainting again.

SUZY

I'll keep an eye on him. See you both later.

SCOTT

Bye.

Scott and Suzy walk off waving goodbye to William and Mary.

MARY

Such a nice pair of kids.

Scott and Suzy walk about seven miles away from town.

SCOTT

How weird was that? How many kids do you know who've spent the night at their Great-great Grandparents? And had dinner with their Great-Great-Great Grandfather?

SUZY

How much further is it? We've been walking for hours.

SCOTT

It can't be much further. We've found the spur in the track and we've been walking along here for a good while now.

SUZY

Look at that tall hedge.

They see a tall hedge hiding an area at the edge of the forest. The train track ends at a gate, which is locked. They follow along it until they find a gap large enough to squeeze through. On the other side they find the overgrown gardens of a farmhouse. The train track continues the other side of the locked gate and into a large old barn.

SCOTT

That's probably where Doc's locomotive is.

On closer inspection, they find a hole in the side of it they can look through.

SCOTT

Damn! It's not there.

SUZY

Let's go to the house to see if Doc's home.

They head on over to the farmhouse, which is covered in ivy and looks like it could have been abandoned for some time. They find the front door, which has a pull chime. Suzy pulls it and it sounds throughout the house. A short moment later, an old Doc opens the door inquisitively. He looks about seventy years old, and still quite active. A small mongrel dog barks at his ankles.
