"Dad.... This is Brad"

I pointed to the guy standing beside with a soft smile.

"My.. uh boyfriend"

Brad gripped onto his bag while I dared to let out a quick smile,

My dad tensed up but then smiled brightly at Brad.

"Why didn't you tell me you had a boyfriend Con?"

I shrugged.

I know why I did though.

Even though I was sure that he would be fine with it, I was still kind of anxious.

There was still a voice at the back of my head going

'Okay, but look at it this way, what if he doesn't?'

"Can he come with us? I wanted to introduce you to him"

Dad just nodded and hold out his arms.

"Bring it in Brad, you're always welcome"

Brad quickly hugged my dad and we walked towards the car parked in front of camp.

I left Dor at camp with Ale, not wanting to freak out dad.

"Oh yeah I have a boyfriend, and a deer, and theres a dragon here and one of my friends almost died and oh hey how have you been dad?"

I looked back at Tristan who came out to wave us goodbye.

"Be safe"

I told him as I got in the car.

He just laughed and nodded.

I rolled my eyes.

As I got in my dad and Brad were already deep in conversation.

I chose not to interrupt them and just let them talk and bond.

It was good to see that dad took Brad in immediately.

Sometimes my dad would look at me in the rearview mirror and look at me with this

'So are you out of the closet or?'

I just shrugged and looked out the window with a smile.

"Oh and Con has some news to share I think

I'm not really in the place to share it, so Con?"

Brad brought the conversation to me and smiled at me.

Nudged me to speak out.

"Mom's coming over"

Dad looked at me through the mirror and his eyes teared up.

"She's coming home"

He whispered.
