Pregnancy Series #20 - Last Minute Preparations.
CREDS TO NIALLS-SCOTTISH-MOFO
Ashton: You were in the nursery, the two of you holding a list containing items for you to make sure you had. Everything was going well until you realized that you hadn't got bottles or diapers. You'd even forgotten to get baby monitors. Looking up at Ashton, you saw that he must have realized it too. He sighed and pulled his car keys from his pocket, "We're not going to be making a good start at this parent malarkey if we don't go get those. You want me to go?" You shook your head, "I want to come too...the exercise will do me good." At the store, Ashton kept a close eye on you, making sure that you didn't stray too far from him. He had become a lot more protective of you in the last few months of your pregnancy. He watched as you went over to the baby things and started picking out the things you needed. Sensing his stare, you turned to look at him, smiling softly, "I can't believe we forgot to buy these. Well I can believe me forgetting, but you? You usually remember everything." He shrugged and reached up to grab the box with baby monitors in it, "Must have slipped my mind."
Calum: "Four? We need four car seats?!" he exclaimed, looking at the large boxes that were on the floor of your garage. You rolled your eyes, "Yes Calum. Unless you've forgotten that we're having twins. We need two for your car and two for mine. Unless you're planning on leaving one of them behind." Huffing, he picked up one of the boxes and opened it, pulling the seat out before going over to his car. You watched in amusement as he climbed into the car, trying desperately to fit it properly. "You doing okay?" you asked, wincing as he let out a loud curse as he jammed his finger in some part of the seat. "I'm fine!" he muttered, letting out a loud sigh of relief as the seat finally clicked into place. "Just three more to go," you grinned, hands rubbing your stomach. He climbed out of his car and came over to you, wrapping his arm around your shoulder, "I'll do it later. I need to have a break." You let out a small giggle, "You've only done one!" He shrugged and led you to the kitchen, "We'll have a cup of tea and a nice biscuit. Then I'll get the rest of them fitted."
Luke: You walked down the stairs, seeing him in the living room, sat in front of the T.V with a large bag by his side. "What're you doing?" you asked, slowly sitting down on the sofa. "Just packing a bag. It's better to be prepared. Is there anything specific you want to take?" Your fingertips began tracing random letters on your stomach, "I want to take my Tom & Jerry PJs." Smiling softly, he wrote it down on the paper so he remembered to put them in the bag when he got upstairs, "Anything else?" You shrugged, "We need to pick some things for our little man to come home in." He got up from the floor and held his hands out to you, helping you up before leading you up the stairs and into the nursery. You went straight over to the chest of drawers by the window and began rummaging through the clothes and blankets. He stood behind you, hands rubbing your shoulder as you brought a soft blue blanket up. "This," you whispered, handing it to him and a small white onesie with 'I'm cute, mum's cute and my dad's lucky' written on it. He chuckled to himself and took it from you, pressing a kiss to your cheek before placing them into the bag before going to get your chosen PJs
Michael: You almost had everything ready. The nursery was ready, the house was baby proofed and the cupboards were stocked with bottles and such. The only thing the two of you had to two was set up the second crib you had been given from your parents. For the first few weeks of her life, little Amy would be sleeping in that crib beside your bed, Michael's idea since he wanted to be able to be close to her at all times. You were supposed to be having a nap but with him banging right beside the bed, you were unable to so instead, you watched him. Half an hour later, he was done and he fell on the bed beside you and you nuzzled your face into his shirt. "There," he breathed, "Everything is set for her arrival." You looked over at the crib, a small smile on your face, "Are you sure that you built it properly?" He laughed quietly, "Yes. That crib is built to perfection and when she's here, she's going to be as snug as a bug in a rug."
