Marchant Mansion:

It was evening, and because of Danish’s urgent call, everyone had returned home earlier than usual. He had told them that there was something important he wanted to share, so the family gathered together. Maya, knowing that all of them would be home, had also come back earlier than her routine. She wanted to prepare a dinner that everyone loved, something special for the family…

By the time she was busy in the kitchen, Aanand and Aryan had also arrived. Only Danish was still missing. Aryan, true to his carefree nature, walked straight into the living room and stretched himself out lazily on the sofa, as if it belonged entirely to him.

(Oh, I almost forgot to mention, Aryan was currently doing his internship. Though he was the younger son of one of London’s most powerful families, he wanted to prove himself on his own. He was studying business and had chosen to work as a simple intern at Marchant Group, his father’s company, to learn from the ground up. It was his way of showing independence and determination…)

Anyways, as Aryan settled in, Aanand followed him into the room. He too looked exhausted. The day at the office had been long and demanding, and the weight of work showed in his posture. He sat down on another sofa, letting out a sigh of relief…

Just then, Maya entered from the kitchen, carrying glasses of water for both of them. She handed the glasses with her usual gentle smile, then sat down beside them. After they finished, she called a servant to take the empty glasses away, keeping the atmosphere neat and orderly…

Maya: So, you two are here… but where is Danish? (she asked curiously, her voice carrying a mother’s eagerness)

Aryan: Brother will be here in half an hour. I just spoke to him… (he said lazily, resting his head in Maya’s lap as if he were still a child, despite being twenty‑four)

Aanand: What happened suddenly that he called everyone home so early? (he asked, his tone slightly tense, worry flickering in his eyes)

Maya: I don’t know… I just hope everything is fine… (her voice softened, betraying her concern)

Aryan: Mom, everything will be fine. Don’t worry… (he reassured her casually, his playful nature trying to ease her tension)

After a little while, Danish finally arrived home. But his face was unreadable, there were no expressions, no smile, no frown. He walked in quietly and sat down, and for a moment, nobody asked him anything. The silence was heavy, as if everyone was waiting for him to speak first. Maya, however, immediately signaled the servant to bring water. The servant returned with a glass, which Danish accepted and drank slowly, as though gathering courage…

Maya: What happened, Danish? Why did you call us all home so early? (she asked with curiosity, but also with a mother’s concern)

Danish: Mom, Dad… because of a fashion show, I will have to go to India…  (he said hesitantly, his voice carrying a nervous edge, as if there was a reason behind his unease)
