ANA'S POV
It was time for another session with Griffin. I stood in front of the coven for warrior training, as I took a deep breath, as I walked through the doors. Griffin was sitting in the couches in the lounge. He sighed heavily as he stood up, and held his hand out to me. He was wearing a burnt burgundy skin tight T-shirt, and black sweatpants. His hair was fallen into his face. "You're a bit late, darling." he said shaking my hand. "I'm sorry." I smiled, and he smiled back. We began to walk to the ballet room, and as I entered, I saw the mirror was still broken. "Wow they're late with fixing things." I stated, and Griffin nodded.
"How are you feeling Anabelle?" he asked, and I looked into the mirror. "I'm great!" I cheered, and he smiled at me through the mirror. "Why?" he asked.
"I have the greatest advantage!" I shouted, and Griffin put his finger over his mouth motioning me to be quiet. "What's that advantage?" he asked. "The second HVIC is suffering from memory loss." I said softly, with a smirk. Griffin cheered. "Are you going to take this to your advantage?" he asked.
Hell yeah!" I responded.
"Good." I said, walking over to me. I turned around to him. "That's enough getting acquainted darling, hit me with your best shot." Griffin said, as his face grew serious. "Could we go outside?" I need a bigger space to whoop your ass." I smiled. Griffin chuckled. "Alright.I needed a smoke break anyway." he said as we walked out the room, and into the yard of the coven. Griffin pulled out a cigar and lit it with a lighter. I took a slow drag and blew the smoke into my face.
I sped away from Griffin and he followed. As he tried to catch up with me, I climbed a tree in order to launch myself on him. As he neared the tree I was at I launched myself onto him and tackled him to the ground, holding him in a headlock. He smiled, and curved his feet up as they kicked me in the face. I fell onto the ground as I felt my nose bleed. "You made my fucking nose bleed, you ass." I said angrily and all her could do was smile. I stood up and launched myself at him as I slapped him across his face, pushing him onto the ground. He flipped me over and flew into the tree, as I sat up Griffin began to take off his shirt. He walked closer to me, and knelt beside me. He placed his hand under my cheek, forcing me to look into his eyes. "Ah, just what I was waiting for." he said, as I took my hands across his face. They were claws, causing marks to appear across his face, I climbed on top of him and began to continuously scratch him up, and he still smiled. It was making me angrier.
I stopped, and looked at him. "Why do you keep smiling?" I asked and pouted. He placed his arms behind his head, as if he were comfortable with me on top of him. "Just to make you mad." he responded.
"Channel your anger to ultimately destroy your opponet. Think about your mother-" he began to say.
"That bitch." I muttered under my breath. "I wonder if Max revived her too." I said, as I grew melancholy.
I got off of him, and dusted myself off. "Lay down, and cloud gaze with me." he patted the ground.
"Hmm. Okay." I sighed and laid next to him. "What am I doing with a trainer?" I asked, looking at Griffin.
"What do you mean darling?" he asked
"I was an HVIC in my last life what am I doing?"
"Well you died, and I'm here to get you back onto your feet, in everyway. Not just fighting, because you're already pretty good at that." he chuckled.
"But back to what I was saying, I'm here to shape you emotionally, and shift you through the things that happened while you were gone. For example, a new pancake may have came out, that I may want you to try." he said, and he was serious as can be.
I nodded. "Or maybe so slick sex position in exploded on the web, and I'd just have to teach you about it." he said with a wink.
I shook my head turning the other way, covering my face with my hands. Griffin rolled over near me, and wrapped his arms around my waist. "How do pancakes sound?" he asked
"I'm not hungry." I lied and smiled. "What about that new sex position?" he asked, and I chuckled, sitting up.
"I'm not up for any of your offers." I said dusting off my clothes. "I also think it's pretty hot when you dress in dark clothes, brings a sort of mystery to you." he said, and I was holding up a sheild to make sure his compliments wouldn't make me blush.
"Alright, well your goal for the end of this week, is find out what's up with that HVIC. Find out her strengths and other weakness, and what you can do to manipulate her." Griffin responded. I nodded.
"You're going to get pancakes with me." he stated, standing up to dust off.
"No, I have to get back to Max's house be-" I said before Griffin cut me off.
He began to brush his fingers over his stubble. "Max, huh?" he said, and I felt a bit of tension behind the name.
I nodded. "You mean, another obstacle of you becoming HVIC? Another HVIC standing in your way. The HVIC, who you once loved, the HVIC who told you that you couldn't be HVIC. the HVIC that wants you powerless?" he asked.
After what Griffin said, I felt my fist clench up. "And you're just showing that you're weaker by living off of him. Showing him that he can control you." Griffin said, and I looked down at the ground.
"I don't want him to control me." I said, as I began to wipe tears from my face. Griffin hadn't noticed I was crying.
"Then why let him?" he asked.
"Leave me alone." I responded, brushing past him to walk to the front of the coven.
As I walked to the front of the coven, I saw Terry sitting outside of the coven. "Ana, love what's wrong?!" she shouted out to me.
I tried to ignore her but I forgot that I needed Max to pick me up. I pushed back my hair, and wiped out my eyes. When I turned around Griffin was talking to Terry. She sighed and looked over to me as Griffin walked back inside.
"It's for the best. He's only trying to help." Terry smiled, pushing her hair behind her ear.
I nodded. "I know." I agreed. "But what he was saying was true, and I just, I Dont know." I said.
"He wants you to channel it and to be back in control." Terry said.
"Well what the fuck do you want me to do?" I shouted, as my hair fell back into my face.
"I haven't got anywhere else to be, I'm not an HVIC, and you wouldn't understand that Terry. I'm broke." I said flatly.
Terry fell silent. I heard a car pull up behind me. "Angel!" Max shouted.
"That's what I thought." I said to Terry as I got into the car.
Max began to drive. "Angel, why do you look like you're crying?" he asked, and his concern made me cry more. "Just drive, leave me alone." I demanded and Max did so.
