A week later Matty took me to a party. I thought it would be just like the lame ones I'd been to with Megan and Ron. You know, kids getting smashed, grinding on each other, sucking face, occasional pot smokers getting high on the porch. This party was different. Firstly, the only thing I could smell was smoke. Weed and cigarettes. Secondly, the music was much louder and people weren't exactly dancing. Also there was occasional crack heads getting really really high in the bathrooms. I was a bit out of my comfort zone. But Matty had told me he'd keep me safe when we'd walked in and he saw my face, so I'd stay.

"Let's dance gorgeous," Matty had said to me after a couple drinks and puffs of a joint he'd grabbed from some random guy. I had a few sips of a beer but I was fully aware of how much tequila Matty had had. He slid is hands around my waist and pulled me to a crowded spot in the tv room where some people stood swaying about to the blasting bass. I leaned in close to his chest and put my head on his shoulder, not caring that it was an upbeat dancy song. He brushed some hair out of my face and touched his lips to my ear. He whispered to me, "I have something to tell you."

I kissed his cheek and grabbed his hand. "What is it?"

He smirked at me and pulled me very close to him. Every inch of my body was touching a part of his. "The 1975 is going on a small tour. We need to promote our band so we're going around to a bunch of cities in the whole UK."

I didn't understand why he was smirking at me. He was leaving me? He saw my face fall and felt me pull away from him a bit. Immediately he wrapped his arms around me again and put his mouth next to my ear. "I want you to come."

I didn't know it at the time, but this was a sentence that I'd never stop replaying in my head in the future.

"Matty I can't I-"

"Sure you can! I know we haven't really known each other that long but-"

"Matty you're not even thinking straight right now."

"I am! And even if I'm not I already thought about this before. I want you to come on tour with us. With me."

"Let me think on it."

"That's not a no!" He said and dipped me down kissing me dramatically. I couldn't help but laugh. He was the life of the party and before I knew it, a ton more people were dancing around us, a cloud of smoke above and around our heads. I didn't know if I could drop everything- my art career finally starting to be something- and go run away on some crazy tour with a boy I had known for about a week and a half!

Already this boy drove me insane. I felt like I could be with him forever. He made me so happy. He wasn't rude or mean, he never pressured me, he always wanted me to be happy. He wanted me to go around the nation with him.

That night when Matty dropped me off I wanted him to stay, but I knew that I needed to be by myself to figure out If I wanted to go with him or not. He told me he was leaving next friday. Six days away.

I had a lot to think about. I told him I'd call him when I make up my mind, and he drove off.

I called Kaci and Andrea to come over in the morning.

"No fricking way." Kaci said. "George didn't ask me to go nowhere with him!"

"Calm down, drama queen. Ross didn't propose any sort of tour to me either." Andrea said, flicking her hand in the air. "Besides, Julia and Matty have been together longer!"

"By like a week." Kaci said.

I cleared my throat.

"Right. We're here about you." Kaci looked at me and crossed one leg over the other. We were all gathered sitting on my couch. I kind of couldn't believe I wasn't having this conversation with Megan, but there was something so fun about these two. I felt like they saw me as someone else. Someone cool.

"I shouldn't go. Right? That'd be... stupid. Right?"

Andrea started to speak. "It wou-"

"Would be stupid if you didn't! The man - I assume - of your dreams wants to take you on an adventure. Go."

Andrea rolled her eyes, sighed and said "Just go."

They both smiled at me and a grin crept along my face.

"Okay!" I said and the three of us jumped up and started doing some sort of weird celebratory dance combined with squeals. Normally I'd be embarrassed but I didn't ever feel embarrassed around them.

"I have to call him!"

Kaci and Andrea turned on the tv as I went outside onto the front porch to call Matty.
