Chapter 3

I suddenly jerked awake in a cold sweat. As I scanned the room to see where I was. The room was painted a cross between light and dark blue. There was a black leather couch across from the bed, a desk coated in papers and sketches under a large window. On either side of the couch were 2 doors, I think one leads to a closet and the other a bathroom.

While I was looking at the room I noticed a black haired boy dressed in black jeans and a dark, almost navy, blue v-neck, laying on the couch.

Suddenly my memories of earlier came rushing back, hitting me like a tone of bricks.

'Ryder, his name is Ryder' I reminded myself. 'I need to get out of here before they get hurt like everyone else.'

I was heading towards the door closest to the bed, the only one on that wall, when I heard shuffling not that far from where I was standing. As I was turning to see what it was, I noticed everything was much sharper and clearer then they had been earlier.

"I see your now awake" I heard making me jump. "Sorry didn't mean to scare you, Lucy isn't it?"

"Yeah" was my oh so creative reply, not the sarcasm, then I remembered I'm meant to be keeping track of the time but had no clue what time it was. "What time is it" I asked after a few seconds of silence.

"12pm, why?" He inquired.

"Shit. I need to go, like now. Can you help me get back to the school?" I asked him, now facing him completely.

It almost looked like he had a concerned or worried expression permanently glued to his face, that though almost had me laughing, someone worried for me, impossible.

"I don't think it's a good idea to go back to school after earlier. Come with me, we can go-"

"No. I need to go, now" I cut him off.

"Why, is something wrong?" He asked with a puzzled expression.

"Um... no?" I said but I came out more as a question "but I still need to go. Not later, now" I added.

"Okay, no need to get your panties in a twist" he muttered back.

Ryder lead me through lots of different rooms and halls till we reached a large brown door. Once Ryder opened the door it was like I was being pulled through different settings and scenes. They looked more like pictures of memories then anything else. One picture stood out from the rest though, it was of a little girl, about the age of 5 or 6, sitting in a large ball of fire, while everything else around her was engulfed by the ball as it grow, bigger and bigger by the second.

After the images stopped serging through my head, I finally realised, the girl in the fire was me, only 10 years ago.

"I have to go, bye" I said in a rush before taking of as fast as I could down his seemingly never ending drive.
