104 Ally of Justice

Roy was not one to procrastinate.

He always preferred completing tasks as quickly as possible and was someone who would act on his thoughts immediately.

His actions were swift and decisive.

So, after helping Gray find the most suitable teacher for her, Roy didn't stay at the Clock Tower to catch up with Waver, nor did he follow Kayneth's carefully laid-out plans.

Kayneth had arranged for him to stay a few more days at the Clock Tower, attend the upcoming high-level meetings, make appearances at the elite gatherings of magus, establish his authority and reputation as the Magician of the Third Magic, and then ceremonially receive his rank and title.

Similar to the iconic titles held by the Scarred Red or The Father of Jewel Magecraft.

Although Roy, as a Magician, didn't need such titles, and his mastery of magecraft wasn't considered the highest, all he had to do was wait a few more days. They would handle everything for him, preparing his application for the title of Grand Magus along with the endorsements of three lords and numerous Magus families. Even the Department of Policies, which was often at odds with them, would have no reason to oppose it.

Once everything was in place, they could proudly announce Roy's new rank, Grand Magus, the highest rank in the Mage's Association, as well as the Magician of the Third Magic.

At that time, they could ride this momentum, showcasing the Clock Tower's strength to the other two departments. Not only did the Clock Tower boast the elusive Magician of the Second Magic, Zelretch, but now they also had a Grand Magus who wielded the Third Magic. In terms of high-level power, they were now at the top among the three departments. The Mage's Association should logically allocate more resources to the Clock Tower.

Those aligned with the Magician of the Third Magic would gain immeasurable benefits. They would take the lion's share, leaving the leftovers for others to scrape by.

However, Roy no longer wished to remain in that place, playing political games with those old schemers.

His pace of action was so swift that Kayneth hadn't even had time to spread the news before Roy left the next afternoon, the day after Zelretch's arrival, flying directly to Japan.

And he went alone, without taking King Arthur.

Just as he had arrived in London in a hurry, he departed just as quickly, without notifying anyone.

At home, he left a message for Artoria, explaining that he might be away for a while and that during this time, she should stay with Gray at the El-Melloi Mansion, where Reines would take good care of them.

He also left letters on his desk for both Waver and Kayneth.

The first letter was a message of congratulations and praise for Waver becoming an instructor and obtaining classroom credentials. He wished Waver success in continuing his journey on the long road of magecraft, hoping that one day he would reach his goals.

If Iskandar, the King of Conquerors, could see your growth, Roy wrote, he would undoubtedly be proud of you.

The second letter was to congratulate Kayneth and Sola. Roy had learned from Reines that the two would soon be getting married. Since he had accepted a request from Zelretch, he wasn't sure if he would be able to make it back in time, so he expressed his regrets and apologies.

He also explained that he was leaving Gray and Artoria in London and had arranged for Gray to study at the Clock Tower, hoping that Kayneth would support her, and, of course, warn the other noble students.
