As Morgan manipulated the underground grand bounded field, the landscape was constantly shifting.
To optimize her combat strategy, Morgan wisely relocated the battlefield. The narrow tunnel had now been replaced by a vast, open plain.
At this moment, the two combatants were fighting fiercely in this expansive arena.
"What's wrong, Magician of the Third Magic? Why are you dodging like a slippery eel? Weren't you the one who said I was the challenger?"
From a distance, Morgan wielded her black Rhongomyniad, releasing a barrage of terrifying black magical spear blades that shot toward Roy.
*Boom!!*
The terrifying magical energy contained within slammed into the ground, unleashing a violent black storm. Roy, meanwhile, skillfully maneuvered, darting and dodging between the falling dark spears.
"..."
"It's too early to declare victory, Lady Morgan."
Roy had already figured out Morgan's intentions. The witch had deliberately changed the scenery and widened the gap between them, intending to kite him with the Rhongomyniad from a distance.
It was clear her body wasn't suited for close combat, and using the Rhongomyniad to summon storms from afar was her best strategy.
Although he could use brute force and raise his magical power to engage Morgan head-on, that would be foolish.
As long as Morgan held the Anchor of the Planet and remained on the planet, she could continuously draw from its endless magical energy, making her simulated witch form tireless. A prolonged battle would be pointless.
To defeat this witch, the key lay in dealing with the Rhongomyniad.
First, he had to close the distance.
Seeing Roy rapidly closing in, Morgan frowned slightly.
Her movements quickened, summoning even more spear blades while sending waves of black magical energy from the ground to cover him.
"Good! Triple Shield!"
Roy grunted, Volumen Hydrargyrum enveloping him like armor. Black flames and lightning crackled across his body as a torrent of magical energy quickly formed a bounded field around him, far stronger than before. Then, like a meteor, he sped toward Morgan.
"What?"
Seeing her attacks being swiftly dodged, Morgan raised her left hand and amplified the Rhongomyniad's magical output. At the same time, she manipulated her magical energy to control the environment, summoning more magical spears from the ground to slow Roy's movements and prevent him from escaping the Rhongomyniad's range.
"Hm?"
Roy, unable to slow down in time, collided head-on with the magical spears. Black flames clashed with the magical blades, and in an instant, the flames burned through large portions of the spears as Roy pressed forward through the tide of magical energy toward Morgan.
"Damn it! These flames can burn both souls and magical energy?!"
Morgan glanced at the large swaths of her spears being incinerated and then at Roy, who was quickly closing in. Her expression showed surprise.
But as a witch of the Age of Gods, she quickly discerned the true nature of Roy's flames.
"Impressive. You truly are worthy of challenging a Divine Construct of the Age of Gods, Magician."
"However, don't think that just because of those black flames I have no means to deal with you. Fire that can burn magical energy may be troublesome for magus, but... don't underestimate the Witch of the Age of Gods."
