Saving Klaus

A/N 

This will be the last chapter from Vampire Diaries. The next one will be set in The Originals. They return to the story in The Maps of Moments. The cubs will be fourteen months old and Hope will be eight months old. This story will be On Hold though until I complete my other Vampire Diaries stories.

Jackson's POV

It's been five days since I last saw my mate and our cubs in person. Sure I didn't miss much in regards to them growing. But I still missed them and Imarina like crazy. But I am finally back in Mystic Falls with Elijah. I wish I could be with Imarina right now. But Esther is up to her old tricks again. She has created an unstoppable vampire hunter and an indestructible weapon. Made of white oak. The vampire hunter is Ric and he is controlled by his evil alter ergo. The only way to kill him, is to kill Elena.

But Elijah doesn't want to do that. He wants to take the weapon from Ric then run. While Elena lives out the remainder of her natural human life. Which would mean Imarina and I will have to leave to follow our charges, to protect them. But first we need to get Klaus back from the Scooby Gang. Who have desiccated him. Elijah and I are on our way to make a deal with Elena. While Imarina had an errand to run. She left the kids at home with Lucy.

Imarina's POV

"You sure?" Bonnie asks me.

"Why do you think I listen to him?" I ask her. "We have to protect him. Otherwise Caroline, Tyler, and the Salvatores will die" I tell her. "I know you don't really care about Damon, but Caroline is one of your best friends and she is my daughter's godmother. We have to protect her" I state.

"Ok, I'll call Damon and get Klaus' location. Then I'll call Tyler, we'll need him if my plan it to work" she states. I give her a grateful smile.

(Gilbert House) Jackson's POV

We arrived at the Gilbert house and were invited in to negotiate. "All we need is to take that stake away from him. Once he's been disarmed, the weapon's in my possession, my family will scatter to the ends of the Earth and Alaric will follow us" Elijah tells them.

"And you'll just run?" Stefan asks.

"We've done it before. Klaus and Rebekah spent the better part of a thousand years evading my father. What's another half century while Elena is able to live out the rest of her natural life?" Elijah asks.

"We've finally stopped him, Elijah. After everything that he's done to us, I can't just let you bring him back" Elena tells him.

"I give you my word, Elena. I will not revive Klaus within yours nor even within your children's lifetimes. Perhaps that will finally teach him some manners" Elijah assures her.

"Why should she trust you? All you've done is screw her over" Matt sneers.

"Zip it" I snarl.

"Easy Jackson" Elijah tells me. He turns to Matt and the others. "For that, I am deeply ashamed. But know this, she could have been dead the instant I walked through that door tonight, so Elena, I leave it to you to make the decision whether to trust me or not" he states looking at her.

"Not! Hello? Did that concussion give you brain damage?! His lunatic siblings will kill you the first chance they get!" Damon shouts from the phone on the table. Stefan decided to invite his brother in on the negotiations.

"Rebekah and Kol will honor the terms. If you return Klaus' body to us, Elena will come to no harm" Elijah assures them. "Imarina and Jackson will also leave Elena alone" he adds.

"Where is Imarina?" Elena asks. "Is she ok?" she asks.

"My wife is fine, she is at home with our cubs" I state.
