Austin's POV
I drive back to Mia's place to continue our little conversation. Knocking on the front door, a tall, brown haired boy answers the door. "Hello?" He says in confusion. "Um is Mia here?" I question, looking into the house. "Nope. She went out with her friend. But you can come inside if you'd like."
I step inside. Giving the guy a sideways glance. "I'm Chase by the way." He extents his hand. "I'm Austin." We both give each other wide glances. "You." We both say in unison. "I've heard things about you Chase." I reply, stepping away for him. "Back at ya."
The door opens, Mia comes in with different bags in her hands. "Oh. You guys have met."
She puts down her bags. "Don't you guys like each other?" She frowns. "Not all that much." Chase said.
She giggles. "Let me properly introduce you guys. This is Austin. My boyfriend. And this is Chase my best friend. Chase, Austin's from Maryland. In the United States. Austin, as you know. We're in Canada."
We look at each other. "We both have a similar interest. One can't have the interest. The other one already has the interest." I smirk.
Chase rolls his eyes. "Are you saying I'm the interest?" Mia questions.
"Which one are you going to choose Mia?" Chase pipes. She sifts, the looks at us both. Her blue hair down to her shoulders. Curled.
"I haven't really decided yet." She laughs unsure.
We both tense. Our lips pressed together. She looks up at both of us and smiles. Helping her gather her bags together, I jog up the stairs. Into her room. "Mia. Come on. I dated you first. I loved you first. You can't do this now."
She turns her head to look at me. "Do what? Oh is it because I wanna follow my heart. Is that it Austin?" Her voice is sharp. Knowing I should probably let her cool, I slowly walk out of her room.
"Don't you dare leave me." He voice rising, in pure anger. "Mia. I- I. - "Save it. Look if you don't wanna be my boyfriend then that's fine." Mia snips.
I grab her and shake her. "Don't you see? This is what Chase wants you to do. Break up with me. He swoops in saves you then I'm left alone. Without you. Mia you can't do this. Not yet."
She gives me a hard stare, I know she's thinking. For sure.
"Fine. I won't. But you give me one reason, one slip up, I'm dumping you." She says, the coldness in her voice.
I sigh. Then leave the room. She's pissed. I know it. Well while she's mad, I might as well just talk to Chase. More like a stern yelling.
