Abby's pov

When I was little, I loved too be in the woods. It was my home. I for some reason especially loved the winter. It never took affect too my body temperature. Besides, winter is so beautiful.  So peaceful. So I made a little home with my little sister, Mckenzie. She had blonde hair and surprisingly bright green eyes. She loved gardening. And she loved it when I thought her how too hunt. The twinkle in her eyes and how excited she was. She hasn't gone hunting with me yet but she will... When she's ready...
But then there's me. I had stormy icy blue eyes that were beautiful in my opinion. They weren't dull. They weren't normal. They were unique. The way I liked it. I had brown hair with a blonde streak here and there.
I was the older sibling of us. By 4 years. I at this point was 12, leaving Mckenzie being 8. Surprisingly smart and respinible though. Or maybe that was my parents swings.... But I loved her and that's all that mattered. She had me too look after her and too take care of her. I woke up early one winter morning, eager too give Mckenzie a winter hunting lesson, when my poor excuse of parents said there would be a storm.
"So?" I asked. "We'd be back soon. I just wanted too give Mckenzie a hunting lesson. A storm is the perfect example of where animals would be heading." I explained too them.
"I don't care your not going, that's final!" My dad screamed and smacked the table. I knew what that meant. One more word and you'll regret every single one. His face said. I sighed quietly, head down, and walked away. I hadn't been outside in 24 hours. That wasn't good for me. I need cold wind in my face. Even though it had no apparent affect on me. I only wore a long sleeve shirt, a t-shirt, leggings, and a scarf outside.
The cold was my friend.
I was so frustrated, they knew I needed too be out there, and not cooped up. It didn't even look like it was gonna snow outside. I decided too make breakfast. I went out too the kitchen and pulled waffle mix out of the cupboard. I added the water and continued with the instructions. As I was pouring it in the waffle maker, Mckenzie walked out and sat at the table.
"Are we going too the fort after breakfast?" She said happily.
"Sadly not. I was gonna give you a winter lesson on hunting in storms but beast 1 and beast 2 say there's gonna be a storm." I sighed.
She looked sad. I was not gonna let her down after the disappointment of parents we had. I finished making breakfast and after we ate I pulled her too our room. I had too think of something too make her happy. I knew sense winter was ending soon we'd have to start her garden again.
Then I got it.
"Let's tell mom and dad we are gonna go to the store and get stuff before the storm. We can get you some seeds for the garden."
Her face it up. "Yeah!" She screeched excitedly.
"Alright, get ready." I told her. She got her heavy jacket on and I threw on a black long sleeve with my Fox Racing t-shirt in over top. I threw on my black jeans and light fabric black long coat that was down too my knees. (No I'm not goth, I just wore black cause it absorbs heat. I like too be prepared besides I wanted too be presentable.)
I grabbed my gray and light blue scarf on rapped it around my neck the way I liked it.
I helped Mckenzie with her gloves and we were off. I managed to grab 20 buck from my moms wallet. Plus my five I had.
I opened the door and called through the house,"We're going to the store before the storm! Be back in a half an hour!" And we were gone before anyone could call back. We want too the garage and put on our ATV helmets and started the four wheeler. We took the path I made that summer to we didn't have too ride bikes. I parked it behind the dollar store and we headed in. We headed straight too the seeds.
Mckenzie ended up with carrots, cucumber, lettuce, sunflowers, corn, potatoes, and peppers.
We had our own little snack hiding place in the fort so we filled up on that. We left with 15 bucks still at hand. Sure at least 10'of it was my parents, but not anymore. We needed more then them sense this is how we got our food. We had a few other things but I'm not going to read a receipt too you when the good stuff right around the corner....
