"Lemme guess." Luke said as he slid into the seat and picked up the muffin, taking a bite. "Banana muffins."
"Wow, however did you know?" I asked sarcastically and Luke merely shrugged. I couldn't wait to see what he had planned for us today. His whole 'all-nighter' plan didn't turn out all bad and we watched a few decent movies and I left his place at two in the morning so it was safe to say I was basically in zombie mode.
I was currently on my third coffee since I got here... which was about an hour ago so it wasn't that bad.
"Did you hear what I said?" Luke's voice interrupted my thought process. When I shook my head he rolled his eyes. "I was telling you about this flower." He said and it was then I noticed the pretty flower that was sticking out of the half empty bottle.
I don't know why I liked the fact that he now brought the flowers in a bottle instead of investing in a decent looking vase.
"It's really nice." I yawned and he nodded. He looked like he slept for ten hours and I hated the fact that even though he probably did not go to bed the minute I left he still managed to look like he had enough rest.
"It's called the silk flower." Luke said and I nodded again. I was really trying to stay awake and his bubbly attitude was not helping. "Oh and I was thinking a lot about this after you left and I know what we're going to do today!"
"Take naps?" I asked and Luke shook his head with a laugh. He really thought I was joking around but I wasn't. I was tired.
"Yeah... it's kind of a surprise."
"What is it?" I asked and Luke shrugged and motioned for us to get up. I reluctantly finished my coffee and got up to follow him out the store.
"I honestly don't really know either but all I know is that it's supposed to be hella fun."
"Hella? What are you? Sixteen?" I asked and he put a hand on my elbow and led me in the direction of the park.
"We're going to the park again?" I groaned and he nodded. "Why?"
"There's supposed to be a game there. It should be fun. You said you liked sports yesterday. Please tell me you weren't lying because that would make me waste an entire day."
"What kind of game?" I asked feeling slightly awake. I was big on sports and maybe the adrenaline from the crowd was going to wake me up.
"Uh, I'm not really too sure. I think it's either football or hockey, all I know it's supposed to be really good. Apparently the two teams have had this rivalry going for the entire year."
"Yeah? What teams? Maybe I heard of them." I asked as we reached the field where the game was supposed to be played.
"I don't know the teams. It's like one of those small games. I didn't even have to buy tickets you just had to get early to get a decent seat." He said as he looked around at the crowded bleachers. "From the looks of it we aren't going to be getting great seats."
"This is a cheap date then?"
"This is a date?" Luke asked with a smirk. "I just asked for ten days to make you want to go on a date with me and you're calling this a date?" The look on his face was already pissing me off. "We can call this off and just make out."
"No thank you." I mumbled and he chuckled and shook his head. He took my hand again and led me to the very bottom of the bleachers. After he sat down his eyes darted around the field.
"These seats are like right in front." He said after a while and I just nodded. "How come people migrated to the very top first?"
"Because the top has a shed in case it rains." I said pointing up and his mouth dropped open before looking up to study the sky.
"We should be fine though. It doesn't look like it's going to rain."
I decided to not jinx it and tell him that it probably was going to rain. I settled on waiting to see his reaction to his hair getting wet when it did decide to rain.
Halfway through the game and I forgot I was even sleepy to begin with. My throat was sore from all the screaming but there was no way I was getting up to get anything to drink right now; I was way too much into it.
One of the players hit their ball into the goal and Luke jumped up and started yelling. I smiled and shook my head at him. He screamed again when the other team scored.
"Who are you really rooting for?!" I shouted... well, squeaked because I'd practically lost my voice.
"I don't even know. I'm just making noise when the ball goes into the-WOOHOOO!!!!" He yelled again and I started laughing. I think today was my favourite of the ten days so far but I was not going to let Luke know that.
I think I felt the rain before he did. He took way too long to feel the rain. It was probably because of all the gel that was in his hair.
He caught up when it started pouring and it was amazing to see the people scatter to get out of the rain but to my pleasure the players kept going. Luke screamed again and I looked over at him with confusion on my face.
"No one scored." I said and he sputtered water out of his mouth. His t-shirt was sticking to his chest and I was physically restraining myself from letting my eyes travel down his body to see what it was that I was getting into.
"There's hair gel in my eyes!" He yelled and I started laughing. He pushed some hair out of his eyes and turned his face up to let the rain fall into his eyes. "Are they red" He asked pushing his face up to me. I leaned back and looked into his bloodshot blue eyes. Even though they were watery the colour was still as bright as ever.
"Yup! I told you it was going to rain."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever." He said rolling his eyes before turning and focusing his attention back to the game. "You're having fun though."
"Emily." I said and Luke's head snapped around and he looked at me.
"What?"
"My name is Emily."
