Buzz. Buzz. Buzz.

I woke up at the third ring. Took a bath. Got dressed. Ate breakfast. Kissed mom and dad goodbye.

Christine was waiting for me by my locker. "Hey," I said. "Hola, amigo," she said. The last weekend was amazing for me. You see, I'm a loner but I don't care about the popularity thing that much. "Josh's suspension is up." I gulped. What if he takes revenge? Yeah, I told you. I'm a loner. It amazes me how he's been my crush since 7th grade and now I'm hiding from him. Well, not much of a difference but I look at him differently ever since that incident. Because of his dark hair and eyes he looks like a juvenile criminal.

Then it was like everything was in slow motion. Josh walked in and everybody stopped what they were doing and stared at him. Like a bad boy, he returned each stare with a menacing glare. I don't know if it's just me or if he really looked at me longer than when he looked at the other students.

R-IIIII-NG!

Saved by the bell.

We talked about William Shakespeare's plays in Literature and I was glad I recited most of the time. Christine answered everything correctly, being the smartest. At Math, I looked out the window all the time. If I look forward, I catch glimpses of Josh from the corner of my eye. So creepy...

At lunch, me and Christine sat alone.

"I thought Jason said he'd see us at school?" I asked.

"Alyssa, if someone says "see you at school" it can mean lots of things. It might mean that he's just saying goodbye," Chris answered.

"Woah. Oh, okay. Sorry, I thought that... whatever. I really need to go out more." She laughed. Was it that obvious?

"Oh, so do you want to eat at King's with me later after school?" a voice said behind me. His silhouette was towering over me and caused a shadow. Jason sat down beside me and smiled at me then Christine. I just looked at him. And didn't "see you at school" meant "goodbye"? Ugh, loner much? A sharp elbow hit my ribs and Chris was looking at me expectantly.

"Huh? Oh! Uh, sure. You're going to pay for everything right?" Jason laughed at my answer. i laughed too.

Usually when I talk to boys my age, it would be an epic fail. It's different with Jason.

What?!

"Yeah, what?" I said out loud. The two of them stared at me then they stared at each other then back at me then they laughed. Okay so I'm a loner, and weird. What the heck. I laughed along with them, figuring that I should. See? I told you I should go out more.

Jason's P.O.V

I looked at the way Alyssa laughs. She looked so peaceful and free, not straining to do what her parents expect her to. The way she throws her head back and her hair follows.

Easy there, Jason.

This sucks. Why did I even ask her out? It's too fast.

"Chris, you want to come with us later?". Chris was fun to hang out with. Last Saturday she made my stomach hurt because of her corny jokes. I can only imagine the look on my mom's face when she saw the way I laugh. Probably thinking that I'm an idiot and I shouldn't be at that fancy event. Who cares. I don't get why people call Chris a weirdo, she's fairly pretty and very smart. I guess we have different perspectives.

"What? I though you were going out on a date?" she said looking confused.

"Easy there, tiger," me and Alyssa said at the same time. Jinx. Alyssa blushed a bright red and looked away. She looked cute. I am so weird.
