Christine Daae

During intermission, Meg and I laughed while Raoul paced around.

"Am I that bad a kisser?" I teased. Raoul nodded, fear in his eyes. I mocked offense, laughing along with the rest of the cast.

I finally saw Erik. I ran up to him and threw my arms around him.

"You never told me...you saw?" I asked, referring to the scene with Raoul and I.

"I thought you were alone, and then I felt betrayed." Erik spat at me.

"Do you stil?" I asked, quietly.

"Christine, you still love him, don't you?" Erik asked.

I rolled my eyes. "Are you kidding me? This again ?" I asked, pulling him into a kiss. His whole body unlocked under my touch.

When we broke, he told me he loved me.

I heard the orchestra start, and whispered, "this whole extravaganza is amazing. You're a genius my darling."

"I love you," he said again, sadness in his eyes.

"What is it?" I asked, but he had walked away.

What did he know that I didn't?

Then I saw him.

The King of Persia.

He smiled at me and held up his gun. My face drained of all color.

He was going to kill me at the end of the show.

But there was worse.

A figure stood behind him and smiled at me.

All of the color drained from my face. I almost threw up everywhere.

He waved at me. I ran to the dressing room and threw up into a trash bin.

I heard the door unlock and I turned around.

"No," I whispered.

"I knew you missed me."

I looked at him and whispered, almost to myself,

"Landon."
