"Calum, stop calling me, I'm trying to sleep," Luke groaned into the receiver.I held the phone to my ear, "It's Rose."
I had woken in a frenzy, my mind already racing about my afternoon plans. I went through my entire closet, trying my best to pick out a nice outfit. Let's just say I was drowning in terrible dresses and ugly blouses.
"Rosie? Why are you calling so early?" he asked, his voice laced with concern.
"Come over, I need your help. Get Calum on your way, he's not answering my texts," I said, huffing as I dropped onto my bed, "I'm having a clothing crisis."
He said he'd be over in ten, hanging up when I called him whipped. I giggled, putting in my headphones.
Half an hour later, the door bell rang. I ran down in my boxers and T-shirt, pulling open the door.
Luke stood with two drinks, an iced coffee and a strawberry banana smoothie.
I gasped quietly, whispering as he smiled, "Is that for me?"
He handed it to me, pulling his sunglasses off his face. His dark circles were prominent, not enough to be a big deal but still something to question.
My fingertips slid under his eyes, "Did you sleep at all last night?"
He smiled down at me, "Do I ever? It's fine, Rose."I left the topic hanging, hugging and thanking him for bringing me a drink.
He followed me up the stairs, "Calum's bedridden sick apparently, but I think he just didn't want to get up. So I got drinks to fill his absence."
I laughed, "It's great to know that Calum equals to two $3 drinks in your mind."
I showed Luke my outfits that I had set out, having a 20 minute argument about what a bralette was. After trying to convince him that it was a bra with a little more fabric, he finally picked an outfit.
I pulled off my t-shirt, leaving me in my bra. Luke looked up from his phone, his eyes widening before he smacked his hand over his eyes, "I'm sorry, I didn't even see that you were changing!"
I chuckled, making sure the bralette was on before telling him he could look again. I wore a grey muscle tee, my black shorts matching my shoes. It wasn't dressy, but it was cute. I faced the mirror, looking through the reflective glass.
"Luke, could you help me with the necklace?" I asked, noticing that he was already staring at me. He nodded, standing. He plucked the chain from my hand.
His fingers brushed the hair back from my neck, his breath seeming heavy on my skin. Draping the chain across my chest, he made eye contact with me in the mirror. There was something about the way he looked at me that made me want to question what he was thinking about, but I left it.
I pulled my hair up, whispering, "Thank you."
He nodded, looking me up and down again, "Why are you getting all dolled up?"
I put a hand to his chest, pushing him back to sit on my bed, "I have a date."
I started hanging other shirts that I pulled down but never wore, keeping myself busy. Luke laid back on my bed, his eyebrows scrunched in confusion, "With Cal?"
"No!" I screeched, "I met someone at the store who asked me out."
"Would I know them?"
I pondered for a moment, "I'm not sure, he goes to our school. His names Michael."
Luke sat up, "Michael? Are you fucking kidding me?"
I turned around, "Calum was a little less angry when I told him."
