No One’s POV
The Field Museum towered over the plaza like a stone guardian, its pillars glowing under flashing patrol lights. Officers guarding the entrance stiffened when they saw who arrived:
Voight.
Intelligence.
And the entire Walker family.
Ruzek whispered to Atwater, “We brought a whole telenovela with us.”
Atwater whispered back, “A telenovela with badges.”
Burgess whispered, “And trauma‑bonded snacks.”
Voight ignored them.
Mostly.

⭐ Inside the Field Museum — Samantha’s POV
The museum was dark except for emergency lights casting eerie shadows across dinosaur skeletons and ancient artifacts. The air felt colder — heavier.
Alejandro swept his flashlight across the floor. “Footprints. Same pattern as the Cultural Center.”
Mateo pointed to a display case. “Forced open. Clean.”
Mom examined the broken lock. “This was intentional.”
Dad nodded. “Professional.”
Voight stepped beside me. “You feel anything?”
I nodded. “Yeah. The killer was here recently.”
Ruzek whispered to Burgess, “She can feel energy again.”
Burgess whispered back, “Honestly? I believe her.”

⭐ The Leadership Clash Begins
Voight moved toward the center of the exhibit.
Captain Rafael Walker stepped beside him.
Too close.
Too equal.
Voight stiffened. “Captain, with all due respect—”
Rafael cut him off. “My children are involved. I’m not stepping back.”
Voight’s jaw tightened. “This is my city. My case.”
Rafael crossed his arms. “And those are my kids.”
The air thickened.
Mom whispered to Samantha, “Your father is about to do the thing.”
Samantha whispered back, “Voight is about to do the thing too.”
Alejandro whispered, “This is gonna be good.”
Mateo whispered, “Ten bucks on Dad.”
Ruzek whispered, “Twenty on Voight.”
Atwater whispered, “I’m not betting against either of them.”
Burgess whispered, “I’m scared.”
Voight stepped closer. “Captain, I respect your experience. But you don’t run my unit.”
Rafael stepped closer too. “And you don’t outrank me.”
The tension snapped like a bowstring.

⭐ Samantha Steps In to Help Voight
Samantha stepped between them. “Stop. Both of you.”
Voight looked at her. “Walker—”
“Don’t,” she said. “We need to work together.”
Dad frowned. “Mija—”
“Papá, no,” she said firmly. “You need to trust me.”
