No One’s POV
The ritual chamber was chaos.
Masked figures restrained, Intelligence regrouping, the triplets catching their breath — but Voight never moved from Samantha’s side.
He still held her hand.
He didn’t even realize it.
And he didn’t let go until she gently pulled her fingers free so she could stand.
Even then, his hand hovered near her like he needed to know she was still there.

⭐ The Captured Attacker
Atwater shoved the last masked figure into the center of the chamber. “Got him.”
Ruzek cuffed the attacker’s wrists behind their back. “You’re done.”
The figure didn’t fight.
Didn’t speak.
Didn’t even look afraid.
Just stared at Samantha.
Voight stepped in front of her instantly.
A wall.
A shield.
A silent warning.
The figure tilted their head. “She is the heart.”
Voight’s jaw tightened. “She’s not yours to talk about.”
The figure smiled beneath the mask. “You protect her.”
Voight didn’t blink. “Damn right.”
Everyone behind him exchanged looks.
Mom whispered, “He’s falling.”
Dad whispered, “He doesn’t know.”
Alejandro whispered, “He’s staring again.”
Mateo whispered, “He’s gone.”

⭐ Samantha’s POV — The Interrogation Begins
Voight stepped closer to the masked figure. “Who are you?”
Silence.
“What’s the ritual for?”
Silence.
“What do you want with her?”
The figure finally spoke. “The Duat requires a guide.”
I stepped forward. “You think I’m your guide?”
The figure nodded. “You speak the language. You understand the symbols. You are the heart.”
Voight’s voice dropped. “She’s not part of your fantasy.”
The figure tilted their head. “But you believe she is special.”
Voight froze.
Just for a second.
Just long enough for everyone to notice.
Ruzek whispered, “Oh boy.”
Atwater whispered, “He’s not denying it.”
Burgess whispered, “This is better than cable.”

⭐ The Mask Comes Off
Voight grabbed the attacker’s mask and ripped it off.
A young man — maybe mid‑twenties — stared back at them with wild, feverish eyes.
