Left For Dead

Chapter Six- Allies

Finding a group was harder than I had originally assumed. I think it was mostly because I was the one asking.

"Hey! You're Rin, right?"  A young girl snapped me out of my thoughts. She was dressed in a knee length black dress with green stripes and a matching hat. Her hair was in two blonde pigtails and curly. She looked around the age of twelve. Her big blue eyes were staring into mine waiting for an answer.

Vampire. I sensed it, but chose to ignore it seeing as no vampire would dare come in here unless they had an army, were really stupid or cocky.

"Yeah. I'm Rin. And who are you?"

She flashed me a bright smile," I'm your new group member. The names Mai Thomas. I'm twelve years old and really strong." To prove her point she point at her biceps as if they were bulging.

"Move along kid I don't want another death on my head." I said turning my back on her.

"I'm strong for my age alright? Plus I have experience. I killed a Werewolf." I shook my head and turned back around.

"You know what? Fuck it. I'm not going to be responsible for the death of you. Do as you wish but we need another two." I crossed my arms awaiting her answer.

"I know just the two! Meet me on the roof in one hour." She said running off, her pigtails bouncing up and down.

I sighed. Great!

An hour passed as I made my way onto the roof. Where I would be meeting the other two members. As long as they weren't two pansies I didn't care.

"Ah, Rin!" My head snapped up to see three figures, which I realized were Mai and the others.

"So.. You weren't lying she does look badass." A male voice rang out.

"And you are?" I said questioning him.

"The names Kai. And this beside me is Luke." He said gesturing towards Luke.

Kai was eighteen no doubt. He had blonde hair and brown eyes. A large scar was clear on his neck. He was well built and looked as if he was a good fighter. Luke on the other hand looked younger, around the age Karma would have been, thirteen? Fourteen maybe? His hair was a blazing red color and his eyes were amber. He was a little on the thin side but looked as if he could hold his own.

"Sorry I'm late!" A voice came from behind me. A turned to see a guy my age panting for breath. Pathetic.

"I'm Alexander." He extended his hand, which I ignored. He had jet black hair and bold hazel eyes. He was tanned and muscular. He was actually extremely good looking.

"Why are you here?" I asked boldly.

"I'm another member." He said dropping his hand.

I only shook my head,"We have the required amount. We don't need you run along."

"On the contrary. You have only me. She-" He pointed at Mai. "Is a vampire and those-" He then pointed at Kai and Luke. "Are her minions. Witches no doubt."

I stood there flabbergasted. Mai's eyes grew dark as she snarled, running after Alexander, her two minions following.

Alexander pulled a two daggers out of his pocket and threw one to me. I caught it effortlessly and attacked. I sliced at Kai and fended off Luke with my other hand.

I tackled Kai onto the ground an plunged my dagger into his heart. He convulsed before laying still on the ground. Dead.

I got knocked off Kai by an angry Luke, his mouth in a grim line as he punched me. Punch after punch he was growing tired. I didn't even feel anything from the amount of times I was abused in the past. His arms dropped to his sides and I took my chance. We both stood up.

I lunged and pushed my dagger into his heart, he gasped and continued to fight slowing down each time. I have to give the kid credit.

He dropped to the ground gasping as he lay in a pool of his own blood. He took his last breath as I seen life drain from his amber eyes.

I wiped the blood in his top cleaning the blade. I looked over at Alexander who was now standing over a dying Mai.

"Smart..kid. Stupid.Demon." She gasped. Those were her last words.

"So am I accepted?" Alexander asked smirking. I chuckled and nodded. Motioning for him to follow me. He obeyed as we walked down to the main grounds in search for two more.
