"Welcome, child." Her voice sounded creepy, to match her persona.
"What is this?" I boldly asked raising my head defiantly.
"Oh? Trying to be brave, child. That won't help. This.. Is a test. A test to prove you're worthy."
____
"Answer me." I said again, more calm.
The woman cocked her head to the side, an all amused look plastered on her face.
"Weak hearted fall first.. This will be a problem. You are strong willed. Harder to control."
"Answer me. Please." I sighed, rubbing my temples.
"You know, I have aided many humans along the years and you by far are the most angry one I've seen. The others were easy to control. They were weak. It was no sweat really." She had a distant look in her eyes, as if she were basking in the glory of her memories.
I began to shake in anger, "STOP CHANGING THE GODDAMN SUBJECT AND ANSWER ME!"
Her eyebrow raised, "Well.. You are more of a demon than I aren't you. I think you may be rabid. None the less, I'm Avaldis, Goddess among demons."
"Avaldis." I tried her name out. It felt foreign on my tongue. Goddess among demons huh?
"Yes. That is correct. I'm ruler, therefore Goddess." She crossed her long pale arms.
"What? How did you-"
"Child. I'm one with you, not fully of course considering you must prove you're worthy." She began walking towards me, taking long strides.
I nodded. "Can we get this over with?"
She took in a deep breath and clicked her boney fingers. I was going to question her but the scene before me knocked the air out of my lungs.
We were standing in the Vamp camp. Mikael, Iruka, Mago,Karma and Ino stood before me, their small faces covered in blood as well as their clothes.
"You left us." Mago and Iruka said in unison. I shook my head taking a step towards them.
"You ran. You didn't care." This time Ino and Karma spoke up. Their eyes filled with hate.
I out stretched my hand to them. "No."
"You ran. Left us to die. I hate you!" Mikael cringed away in disgust.
I gasped pulling back my hand. No!
"You left us for dead." They all said in unison.
This isn't real.. They're gone. I told myself.
I stood up straighter, "This isn't real!" My voice boomed.
My family soon disappeared. Leaving me alone, as I always am. A tear escaped my eye. Followed my a scream of agony from my mouth as I collapsed on the ground.
Why? Why them!?
"I see." The creepy voice of Avaldis rung out.
"You see what?" I snapped hugging my sides, sniffling.
I stood up even though my head was protesting.
"I see why you want revenge. I see you're strong and defiant. Once more I see power." She lifted her left hand to my eye, covering it with the palm of her hand. Her pale hand felt cold and sent a shiver down my spine.
Light beamed from her left hand and struck my left eye with so much force it knocked me off my feet.
Pain. That's all I could feel. My eye felt as if acid had been poured into it. It burned.
I screamed in terror, clutching my left eye as if it were to be gouged out by a psycho path.
"You'll be alright in a moment, child. I was just sealing our contract." I opened my right eye to see her smiling.
"You bastard!" I screeched as a wave of pain hit me like a truck.
"Yes, yes. Well I bid you farewell. Until next time. Rin.." Her voice echoed, sounding from all around me and fading until I was left in silence.
My eye which had burned not even one minute ago had now been as if nothing at all had happened to it.
I jumped. The light around me making me groan from the intensity.
"Ah. So you were the last to awake." A loud voice caused me to snap my head up to see everyone standing in front of me.
"What happened?" I groaned standing up.
"We made a contract with demons. You being you chose the most powerful. Goddess Avaldis. I have no clue how you've not been possessed." Gerard explained.
It all came back to me, the dream. Was it a dream?
"I remember now. I had no control over my body whatsoever. I just walked to the statue absentmindedly." I said more to myself.
They stood before me awestruck. I rolled my eyes, picking up my new sword as I did so.
"Well let's begin." I walked out of the door leaving them all behind as if nothing ever happened.
