Liam's mom opened her eyes. She couldn't see anything but two silhouettes.
She moved her pupils downwards to see what was going on.
"She is waking up" she heard someone mumbling. As far as she can understand, they were doctors."Mrs. Arrington, can you hear us?"
The silhouettes started to get clearer. One of the doctors were the surgeon of his son, Liam.
"Can you respond us?" The nurse asked.
She nodded.
She was curious. What was going on?"You fainted due to shock. It is something normal, do not panic." The doctor said quickly.
But Mrs. Arrington looked worried. "We should talk about this when you less tired, Mrs. Arrington. Would you like a cup of herbal tea?"
"Yes please." She said. Her voice sounded just like how she felt. Shocked, exhausted and weak. The doctor and the nurse went out of the room.
Loneliness felt good. Mrs. Arrington needed to asses the events alone.
She brainstormed.
Yes. Now she was remembering why she fainted.
As far as she can remembered, she was waiting for Liam to wake up.
She remembered that she was sleeping. She woke up to a nice smell, cherries and cinnamons... Her eyes were still close back then, because she was too tired. Her eyelids felt too heavy.
But a significant thing that she remembered was that the smell was something that she wished to smell once again.
Anyways, she thought. She remembered hearing some coughs. They weren't clear though.
After that, she smelled something so salty and gross.
Something that she knew.
Something that triggered her anxiety and caused her to wake up immediately.
She remembered opening her eyes and the first thing she saw was a a bloody corpse that was it's inside out.
She remembered freaking out and begging a doctor for help.
That was all she remembered.Right at that moment, the doctor, Liam's surgeon, walked in with two cups of tea. He sat down next to Mrs. Arrington.
"Do you wish to know how you fainted, Miss?" Asked the doctor.
"I suppose I have figured out how. I brainstormed while you were gone." She responded.
They stayed quite for a while and took a sip from their herbal tea.
The doctor distorted the silence "I'm not sure if it's a good idea to talk about such a serious subject after this tragic event but..." He continued "this needs to be mentioned at some point." The doctor took another sip from his tea.
Mrs. Arrington looked curious.
Doctor continued "we called the police, but as far as we know, there is no strong evidence to find out who committed the crime."
"Can't they just check the security cameras?" Asked Liam's mom."That's the case. We don't have any security cameras at the second floor, which corresponds to intensive care unit.
The patients who stay at the second floor, are the ones that usually have deep open wounds tend to get infected quickly; so most of the time, unlike you, we don't let the visitors in. But the personages of the patients are usually curious about how the patient's doing, so -you have probably noticed- considering this, the design of the intensive care unit's doors are glass which allows personages to watch their loved one's conditions even from the corridor.
