"How exactly can we adopt him if we don't have the proper paperwork?" I ask Jaxon. It had confused me the whole shopping trip. I remember we were in Caleb's car, the one he used to get us to this pack, and I started thinking that for an adoption you need paperwork. So, here I was discussing this with Jaxon while Caleb got Raphael settled into that room. And yes, all three of us are sharing a room.

"By agreeing to adopt him, I can welcome him into the pack then place him into the orphanage and then you can officially adopt him from there where we will have paperwork."

"But then when we take him back, he'll be apart of your pack and not Caleb's or mine."

"When you adopt him, he will end up with your pack. He is too young to have formed a bond with the pack. Whichever pack he grows up in, he will eventually develop a bond with them..or his wolf will, meaning he can mindlink that pack he is currently in.. And that won't be my pack."

"Oh." Is that really how things work?

"So, I will welcome him into my pack.. Well, I can put him in the orphanage or I can give you the paperwork now."

"Wait, if you welcome him into your pack-"

"I'm not exactly welcoming him in. I'm saying I am so that he won't have to actually be apart of my pack. I can just give you the paperwork as if he was already in the orphanage." This is so confusing. I'm guessing he saw my confused look because he sighed in frustration. "He won't officially be part of my pack. Whichever pack you both decide he's better off at, you will then have to officially welcome him into either your pack or Caleb's."

"Oh, okay."

"Got it?"

"Yeah. I believe so." I see him roll his eyes, but I know he thought I didn't. He then stands up, walking over to some cabinets and pulling a draw out. He pulls out two sheets of paper.

"This one is for you and Caleb to fill out, but only after I've filled this one out and sent it off. Then you guys fill that one and give it to me to send off."

"Okay then."

He hands me the form. Then furrows his eyebrows. "Actually, fill it out. Then give it to me and I'll send it after I've sent this, okay?"

"Alright."

I head back to the room, only to see that Caleb and Raph had fallen asleep. Is putting clothes away really that tiring?

I smile at the sight. Caleb was slumped on the floor with Raph on his lap, curled up into a ball with Caleb's ad, draped around him. Damn, they must be real tired.

I pull out my phone and snap a picture of them. It was too cute and I wished it could last forever.

But then Caleb won't be able to mark and mate us, my wolf tells me. I roll my eyes and chuckle.

I didn't mean it literally, don't worry, I tell her. I hear her sigh with relief.

Caleb's eyes just then snap open. "I thought I smelt you."

"You were awake?"

"Yes, sweetheart. I was just closing my eyes, waiting for your return."

"Oh how sweet. I thought that packing away clothes had tired you both out."
