A Lion's Tale

It had been a week and Kovu had been getting closer to my niece Kiara. I was jealous of Kiara as well. Simba was letting her take the crown. But she was a girl. I dot understand why she and I are so different.

Then Nuka came in and said that Kovu and Simba are going for a walk. This time I was to join the attack. But only because Zira commanded that I do. "If it was up to me you would stay put." He said . He gave me a grumpy look. I licked his cheek. Then ran out the door. We found Simba and Kovu. They were talking in the middle of burned trees. So I approached first. This was our plan. Something to shock Simba. Something to get him.

"Good Job Kovu..."

He looked panicked. He had just been getting closer. And not anywhere near killing.

"Who are you!" Simba growled.

"You don't know me?" I asked.
"Well I suppose not. I left when you were just a little cub. My name is Ashanti. Your sister."

"No. They said she. You were dead."

"Obviously not. Attack!" Then the others advanced and both lions looked scared.

"Simba! I had nothing to do with this!" Kovu cried. We all jumped Simba. But he broke free and then they both ran. We chased them into a canyon. Simba let Kovu up first then tried to climb up himself.

"Get him Kovu!! Get him!" Zira yelled, well more pleaded.

But Kovu did nothing. Then Nuka yelled. "I'll get him!" "No Nuka! I tried to grab him but he pulled past me. "I'll do it for you mother!! I'll do it for Ash, and most of all. I'll do it for me!" Then he grabbed Simba's paw. And he roared in pain. I flinched. Nuka tried to grab him. But he pulls free and leaped over the rest of the logs, but by doing so knocked over some of them.

"Nuka!!!!" I screamed . Logs fell every which way. And landed on Nuka. I bolted to get him free.

Kovu beat me and Zira there and tried to free him. Zira pushed him out of the way and both of us pushed the logs off of his head. He looked at us. "I love you Ash. and I'm s-sorry m-mother. I t-tried." He shuddered. "Shhh." Zira said and held his head in her paws. He took a shaky breath. Then stopped. I knew he was gone. And so did Zira.

"You!" She whipped around and growled at Kovu. "You! You killed your own brother!! You left Ashanti and their child fatherless!"

"No!!"

"You killed him!"

" I ... Did... NOTHING!"
He snarls.

"Exactly!! And in doing so Nuka is dead." Her voice breaking off. She turned to leave. But the went and smacked Kovu across the face. Leaving a cut across his eye. Just like Scar's . I padded up to him. He flinched. Like he expected me to hurt him as well. I wanted to, but I was so in shock. "You are not one of us." I said quietly. His face was filled with horror and he ran. Vatali was crying so I went up and we walked together. I had just lost my Love. Vatali had lost a brother. Zira, a son. And my unborn cub. A father...
