Khaza (POV)
I glanced at Kay through the bathroom mirror as I finished touching up her ponytail. I still couldn't believe I could love someone this much. She was the most precious person in my life. I'd do anything to protect her.
I was so lost in thought, I didn't even notice Jada leaning against the doorway watching us.
"She is so pretty." she said.
I looked up at her and smiled.
"Yeah. Daddy's baby," I said. "You know she had me redo this ponytail like five times?"
Kay's eyes stayed glued to my phone, but that little smirk on her face told me she heard every word.
Jada laughed softly as she walked in and sat her makeup bag on the counter.
"Your daddy doesn't know what it takes to be a girl."
I sighed dramatically and stepped back, watching the both of them.
Jada was fully focused while doing her makeup, and Kay was digging through her little fanny pack trying to pick out lip gloss like she had somewhere important to be.
I was in complete awe.
Seeing them together did something to me every single time.
Neither one of them was paying me any attention, so naturally, I decided to start trouble.
"Baby, we just going out to eat. Why you putting on makeup? You want La'rel on your food?" I chuckled.
Jada immediately cut her eyes at me.
"That is not...how you say that."
"How you say it then?"
She ignored me completely, too busy brushing black mascara onto her eyelashes.
"You ignoring me?" I asked.
"Yes, I am," she finally replied. "Because you're trying to be funny."
"I'm trying to tell you that you don't need makeup."
She paused and looked at me for a few seconds before sighing.
"Fine... I'll take some of it off."
I smiled and leaned down, kissing the back of her neck.
"Don't do that either," she mumbled, fighting a smile.
I laughed quietly before heading downstairs to give her and Kay a little time together.
The second I reached the living room, I froze.
Killa and Ron were throwing my Benin Bronze antique back and forth like a damn football.
"Yo, what the fuck are y'all doing?" I snapped, catching it mid-throw.
They both looked at me like I was the parent that just ruined all the fun.
Ron shrugged. "Man, relax. We was just playing."
"With this?" I held the sculpture up. "Do y'all know how old this is?"
Killa flopped back onto the couch. "Here this nigga go."
"I'm serious," I said, carefully placing it back on the shelf. "This older than everybody in this house combined."
Munchie walked in eating chips and instantly started laughing.
"I knew y'all was gon' get caught."
Ron pointed at me. "Ever since Jada and Kay moved in, this nigga turned into somebody's uncle."
