Izna's POV

I was standing opposite Adhrit, still caught off guard by whatever he had just said. My face was slightly flushed and mind you, it was definitely not because of him.

Oh, absolutely not. It was just hot in here without the air conditioner.

Oh wait, who was this guy behind Adhrit? He was around 5'10", a giant, bloated man, if not shorter. He was so buff that even my grandfather's old scooter would have looked less bloated in front of him.

Honestly,as per my judgement, he looked like a total goon.

Adhrit looked at me as if someone were holding him at gunpoint. Well, given how close this guy was standing to him, the gun probably was touching Adhrit. Never mind, I needed to shut my BL-obsessed brain up for a while, but come on, it was funny.

Oh, oh, OH... don't tell me he owes money to loan sharks. Well, in that case, I'll just leave him and run. Those people will take his organs to recover their money anyway, and I don't need to donate mine too, right? That would just be a charity case.

Wait, the guy whispered scandalously in his ear. Dear Lord, tell me this is the part where he turns around and they kiss.
But to my surprise, none of that happened. Instead, it made me immediately alert, especially noticing how stiff Adhrit's body had become.

Something wasn't adding up here.

I immediately put some safe distance between myself and the goon. No, I wasn't running away like not yet or again-just making sure that for both of us to be safe, at least one of us remained free.

I looked to my left, where the samosa seller standing between us looked like he had just witnessed someone use pure desi ghee instead of cheap dalda.
Yeah, something was extremely wrong.

I signaled Adhrit with a weird movement of my eyes, which made his own eyes widen. I guess this is what people do when they are scared for their life.

I acted as if my phone had fallen down, looking in the opposite direction while picking it up. But that was when I stole a glance and saw the silver revolver pointed straight at Adhrit's back.

So, we had a little gun loving goon and a martyr syndrome victim. Wow, indeed a match made in heaven. Okay, serious now.

Taking the cue, I looked to my left and found a spatula dipped in the wok where piping hot samosas were being fried. Now that was one hell of a weapon.

The only risk here was Adhrit-his face was actually handsome enough to make me regret spilling oil over it, but it was a do or die situation, Izna! The fighter part of my split personality fought and, unfortunately, won.

So, in the next few seconds, with the speed of Flash, I took that spatula and smacked the hot rod straight to the now confirmed goon's back a few good times. Because I attacked suddenly and from behind, it saved both Adhrit and me, forcing the goon to release him from his grip.

Before I could even react, I saw a group from the same tribe of goons running toward us. That was when Adhrit poured the remaining hot oil from the wok in their direction, grabbed my hand, and literally ran for miles.

So many brutal screams echoed behind us, but I think he did the right thing.

Whatever keeps you alive without unaliving someone is legal. Plus, survival of the fittest.

Running twice in one day, though? My legs were completely giving up. I would honestly prefer dying over running a marathon twice a day, thank you very much.

But this time, he was literally dragging me while they threw glass bottles at us. I thought we might actually die. The train's horn blared, indicating it would leave the station soon.
