days passed quietly.
Too quietly.
Y/N had started noticing little things about Jungkook now.
The way he always waited for her to sit before starting dinner. How he silently adjusted the car heater toward her whenever she looked cold. How he never said "take care" directly but still texted:
Did you eat?
Don't wait for me. Sleep early.
Tiny things.
Small enough to miss.
But Y/N noticed all of them.
And somehow those tiny moments were making her fall harder every single day.
Tonight, Jungkook was taking her to his company celebration party. A huge event for one of his biggest business successes.
7:45 pm
Y/N stood nervously in front of the mirror while fixing the sleeve of her dress.
The soft champagne-colored fabric flowed beautifully around her body. Elegant. Simple.
Not enough for someone like Jeon Jungkook.
"You ready?"
Y/N turned around quickly. And forgot how to breathe.
Jungkook stood near the doorway in an all-black suit, one hand inside his pocket, dark hair pushed neatly back.

He looked unreal.
His eyes slowly moved over her appearance.
Lingering.
Not inappropriately.
Just enough to make her heart race.
"You look beautiful," he said quietly. The compliment came so naturally that Y/N blinked in surprise.
A small smile appeared on her lips. "Really?"
Jungkook walked closer while adjusting his watch.
"Mm."
That tiny hum alone almost killed her. He stopped in front of her and gently brushed something invisible off her shoulder.
"You nervous?"
"A little."
"Don't be."
His fingers lingered near her arm for one extra second before pulling away.
