I heard the lifeless body laying on my bed shift, and I turned for across the room to face it. The lights were off, yet I was still typing away on my laptop which was resting on the desk across the room. The body moved again, and I heard a loud groan. "Can you turn off that stupid light?" Mason growled.
"You're up!" I laughed in surprise.
"Turn off that light!"
"Mason, that's called the sun."
"No, the other light!"
"Mason, the lights are off. That's the sun."
Mason groaned, covering his eyes with his hands. "I have a killer headache."
"Obviously." I laughed, "There's asprin next to the bed, Mase."
"Right. Thanks." He sat up slowly, taking the asprin and washing it down with the glass of water I had left out for him.
I walked over to sit on the bed next to him, and he gave me a apologetic look.
"Look, Hals, I'm really sorry."
"Don't worry about it."
"I'm an idiot. I got drunk, and I came here. And I got you in trouble, and I hurt you."
"Mason!" I tried to inturrupt him.
"I'm a horrible boyfriend. I'm immature, and irresponsible--"
"Mason!"
"And, I love you so much, and of course I'd be upset, but I could see, especially after those stupid things I said last night, if you wanted to break up,"
"Mason, shut up!"
"And I understand if you're mad at me, or even if you hate me--"
"Mason, shut up!" I screamed, and he stopped, looking up at me.
"I can go--"
"Mason, I don't hate you. I'm not happy with your actions, but I'm not mad. I don't hate you. I think you're a great boyfriend, just annoying sometimes. And, I'm not going to break up with you, even though your little comments last night were not appreciated. Understand? I love you."
"I love you too, Hal. I just, I, I'm a horrible boyfriend."
"What happened? Something's bothering you."
"So, I was drunk last night--"
"--Yes, everyone is clear on that."
"Hallie, let me talk. I don't really remember anything that happened last night. But, I just got this text."
He handed me his phone, and my heart dropped.

"Good morning, you two. Sleep well?"
"Nope." I growled at my mother's cheerful voice.
"Thank you for letting me stay, Ma'am."
"Sure, Mason. You're a good kid."
"Yep, he's just wonderful." I laughed.
"Hallie," Mason whimpered, and my mother looked up quickly.
"Is something wrong?"
"Everything's perfect," I lied, hissing through my teeth.
"Hallie, why don't you go upstairs. I'd like to talk to Mason."
"No. Mason was just leaving."
"Hallie," Mason whimped again.
"Hals, let me talk to him." My mother begged.
