An Idea...

“So…” Moonkyu started while staring at the coffee in front of him.  

“Look Moonkyu…”  

“It’s him isn’t it?” Moonkyu asked without looking up.  

“Who?”  

“That Kyungsoo guy you introduced me too…”  

“What about him?”  

“You know what I’m talking about Kai…”  

“Ah well yeah we are kind of an item…” Kai said hesitantly.  

“I knew it… Did you forget the promise we made when we were little?” Moonkyu asked looking up into Kai’s eyes.  

Kai blushed. “N-no.”  

“I knew it then forget it. ” Moonkyu said while getting up and grabbing his coat.  

“Kyu… Don’t be like this I’m sorry but I love him” Kai said while getting up.  

“I knew I had my hopes up thinking you would actually keep your promise. ” Moonkyu said while turning his back to Kai.   “Kyu…”  

“You promised…” Moonkyu said while turning around a little angry but Kai could see the hurt in his eyes, “You promised you would wait for me. You said you wouldn’t fall in love with anyone else!”   “But Kyu that was so many years ago…” Kai said while looking down not knowing what to say.  

“So your love has a time limit? Wish I would’ve known that before I fell in love with you!” Moonkyu said before turning around and storming out of the cafe.  

“I’m sorry…” Kai said while standing there and earning the eyes of the curious listeners. Kai looked around to see people looking at him.  

“What?! Nosey ass bitches… Holy shit, mind your own business!” Kai said before stomping out of the café and slamming the door shut.   He knew he was at fault because he knew all to well what promise Moonkyu was talking about. He remembers it like it was just yesterday…

“Kai-sshi!” Moonkyu said while running up to the half-asleep boy on the swing.  

Kai rubbed his eyes and looked at his best friend. “Yes Kyunnie?” Kai asked.   “I h-have to tell you something…” Moonkyu said while sitting on the swing besides Kai’s.  

“What is it?” Kai said while looking at Moonkyu suspiciously because he was fidgeting.  “What’s wrong?” he asked again.  

“I-I’m moving?”  

“That’s it Moonkyu you had me scared or something! Where too? Oh is it that new house down the street! The nice one with the big yard! We can play hide-and-seek there!” Kai said with a huge smile causing the older boy to wince.  

"Kai..."  

"Oh and that means we will live closer to each other! Moonkyu why do you look sad this is great news!"  

"Kai!" Moonkyu shouted while standing up.  

Kai looked at him with shocked eyes. "Why are you yelling at me? I'm just happy that you're moving..." Kai said with tears starting to build up.  

Moonkyu instantly regretted his actions and went to hug Kai but he knew he had to break the bad news to him sooner or later and the sooner he told him the faster he could get over it. He hesitated though because he knew Kai easily cried over the smallest things.
