Halfway through the good-bye speeches, -which included a lot of obviously fake memories such as 'that time we went swimming'... Yeah right! Dad didn't know how to swim!- two figures appeared in the crowd. One with blond hair, and one with black hair... Mr. Fate and the mystery boy!

I looked at the two... great! Two more fake mourners!

The mystery boy went up... What!? Is he gonna make up some fake memories too?!?!

He started speaking. "The people you are here to see buried may not be close to me," Everyone gasped, and I felt my eyes widen. "But by all the fake crying and fake stories you are saying -that only tarnish their memory, may I add!- it's obvious that most, if not all of you, don't even know them..." I felt a wave of such heartfelt gratitude towards him as he stood up for my family's honour, that I couldn't do anything but nod. He continued. "But this ceremony isn't really for them; it's for the people they left behind. People like I was once..." his dark brown eyes met mine. "People like their daughter and sister, Sunset." I was shocked he even knew my name.

"She is nothing but an ungrateful child!" shouted Linda's voice from the crowd. I looked over to see her poor, sweet husband, Henry, try to restrain her. "She wouldn't even get out of the bubble-filled bathtub to call the police!!!"

Anger enveloped me as she described my misrable shower as a luxury... "Oh yeah?!" I yelled at her. "Well, you were supposed to come over and have dinner with my parents! And where were you?" I saw Henry stiffen. Poor guy... "I couldn't hear anything over the spray of the shower, but what's your excuse?"

"You told me you went to pick her up and nobody answered..." I heard Henry accuse her.

Poor Henry, he didn't deserve a bitch like her as a wife...

"Were you with the Alpha?" he whispered so softly that I couldn't be sure if I heard correctly... Alpha?! Well, it's either a nickname for Mr. Fate or I hit my head so hard that I am hearing things... Then again, it was said pretty softly; I could have just heard wrong...

"Let me go Henry!" She punched him, and as her fist connected with his jaw, I saw the tattoo on her bare shoulder flash red. I was relieved that his jaw wasn't broken- after all, I would have heard a crunch- because the next thing he said was the best thing for him to say...

"We're done!" Wow, I've been waiting for the day they finally left each other. Henry will be better off without that cheating, lying bitch.

Everyone gasped and turned to glare at me... Well, I guess it is kind of my fault.

I ran from there as fast as I could, but not before I could see Linda practically smother Mr. Fate with her body... YUCK!

Both Mr. Fate and the black haired boy tried to follow me, but Linda was all over Mr. Fate at the same time she was stopping the boy and yelling at him for causing a scene... Well... There goes their chance of freedom!

I ran as fast as my feet could take me, but I tripped and ended up rolling down a hill.

All of a sudden, I found myself inside a large body of water. It was swallowing me whole.

I can't tell which way is up and which way is down... I'm too dizzy.

I just let the water have me as time blurred together...

Maybe this is for the best; I will finally be able to be with the rest of my family.

My last thought was: Mom, dad, Jason...I'm coming. Then I felt my head hit a rock.

Everything went pitch black...

~Mystery Killer POV~

If that little bitch -literally- doesn't let go of me so that I can comfort my mate, I'll kill her!

"Let  me go!" I yelled at her; she was in my pack, she had to obey.

She looked at me in shock as I pulled myself out of her grip. As she yelled at me to come back over there, she forgot all about him.

Another stupid werewolf trying to impress my mate... She may not see it, but I do...

The way he looks at her, you'd think he thought she was his mate!

What does he know?!

Nothing!

He knows nothing of what happened that night...

He doesn't have to bear the guilt of killing his mate's family!

He won't have his mate yanked away from him because of a stupid mistake...

At least that awful woman knows what losing a mate feels like, seeing as she just did... But she doesn't look heartbroken at all!

Wow, she must really have it bad...

I started racing against the other male... I was so close...

I can still smell her sweet scent; it's one of honeysuckle and violets.

I sighed, imagining her in my arms...

"She's mine!" I snapped at him through my mind, using all the powers being an Alpha entails... but he was one too.

He belonged to the rival pack.

And she belonged in my pack; he had no chance of getting her!!!

"No, she's mine!"he snapped in my head. I growled at him.

But then my heart dropped... her scent...

It led me down a hill...

And the trail ended at the edge of a deep lake...

I turned into my black wolf involuntarily, and howled at the cloudy, moon-less sky.
