Anodite changes

final battle part 3 (epilogue)

"alright listen up cuz i have just the plan to take down vilgax and it aint gonna be pretty!"

For a moment nobody spoke. The giant red sphere above Vilgax continued growing larger and larger while cracks spread throughout Anodyne. Entire mountains collapsed in the distance and even some of the stronger anodites found themselves struggling to remain standing under the pressure. If somebody had shown Ben this battle a few years ago he probably would've laughed in their face, yet here he was fighting a universe destroying Vilgax on a magical alien planet while everybody watched. At this point even the Forever King had stopped caring about old grudges and was more concerned with not being vaporized.

"Ben now would be a really good time to explain!" Gwen shouted while trying to keep a barrier around the nearby anodites.

"Right okay so basically, Vilgax is forcing all that power together." Ben explained while pointing toward the giant attack hanging over their heads. "The moment that thing becomes unstable, the whole thing falls apart."

Sharza immediately looked confused.

"That sounds incredibly dangerous."

"It is."

"And that's your plan?"

"Pretty much."

"BEN!"

Sunny meanwhile had started laughing again which only annoyed Gwen further.

"I swear you're enjoying this."

"A little bit." Sunny admitted. "Besides look at him."

"Look at who?"

"Ben."

Everybody looked.

Ben was smiling. Not because he wasn't taking the situation seriously, but because he had finally figured something out. The mana around Anodyne had been reacting to him throughout the entire battle, but only now was he starting to understand why. The energy wasn't resisting him anymore. It wasn't something he was borrowing either. The entire planet seemed to be responding to him naturally, almost as if Anodyne itself had chosen a side in this fight.

Verdona noticed it first.

"The mana..."

Immediately everybody felt it.

The rivers below them began glowing brighter. Forests of living energy started lighting up across the horizon and streams of mana erupted from every corner of the planet. What had once been a battlefield now looked like a world waking up. Thousands of different energy streams raced toward Ben from every direction while everybody watched in complete disbelief.

"The planet is helping him." Verdona finally said.

That statement shocked almost everybody present.

Almost.

Sunny simply crossed her arms.

"Told you."

Meanwhile Vilgax was having a completely different reaction. The giant conqueror stared at the incoming streams of mana while his expression slowly twisted into rage. After everything he had done to obtain this power, after all the battles, all the sacrifices, all the destruction, the very planet itself was helping Ben.

"No."

More mana gathered around Ben.

"NO!"

The tyrant immediately poured more power into the giant sphere. Red lightning exploded throughout the sky while pieces of floating land were ripped apart and absorbed into the attack.
