Sorry for not updating, I've been very busy with school back.
3rd person
The death eaters began to taunt professor Dumbledore as the three imprisoned girls blocked it out. Yes, imprisoned. The death eaters had all chained up the three unfortunate girls.
"Well, look who's won this time, Dumbledore. This is my final victory. Leonie Carrow, the blood traitor is dead. That horrible muggle she married is most likely dead. We may not have been able to corrupt Lyric or Gemma Davi, but we have the next best option. We can hand them over to the Dark Lord. Think about how he'll praise us!"
In all this unnecessary gloating, no one noticed the greasy haired boy that Lyra had seen at Malfoy Manor unlock her chains in his last desperate attempt to fix what he had done.
Out of the corner of McGonagall's eye, she spotted Cassiopeia rolling up her left sleeve, looking as though she was about to summon the Dark Lord. It sent a pang of dread through her as she remembered the small girl she once was. Young Cassie Black.
The small eleven year old girl that started dying her hair blonde as an act of rebellion against her family. The girl who then refused to look properly groomed like she was meant to. Disowned when she was only fourteen years old. That was when it all went wrong. The caring and rebellious girl with the eyes that always had light behind them, even though the colour was not particularly bright, stayed with the Carrows after that. It had been hoped that Leonie would've influenced her, but the girl refused to speak to anyone except Apollo or Isabella for a brief time. It was now that McGonagall realized that Cassie was doomed from the beginning. Just being in the Black family was toxic. Her fate was determined the day she was born.
"Because don't you see, Dumbledore? This is our ultimate victory. We have Melody Cooper, Gemma Davi and Lyric-" he trailed off, glancing behind him.
But Lyra wasn't there.
A horrible yell rose up from the death eaters, piercing everyone's ears.
"Where is she?" Apollo roared.
Cassiopeia's face stayed calm and when she spoke, her voice was dripping with false sweetness. "Lyric, sweetie, won't you come back?"
When this didn't work, her eyes flashed with fury. "If you know what's good for you, you'll come back right now! Do you want Gemma to suffer here for you saving your own skin? Where are you?"
Suddenly, before anyone could react, a flurry of copper coloured hair flew down from above and Lyra stood in front of them. She smirked. "Present." At that moment, Gemini sprung to her feet, knocking out the death eater to her right.
Mentally groaning, Gemini watched in dismay as Melody stumbled to her feet, struggling to take the chain off her wrists. Finally, after what seemed to be hours of holding off the death eaters, Lyra slashed off the remaining chain with a dagger that had quickly materialized in her hand.
With the real Melody tripping after them, they bolted. Immediately they heard death eaters pursuing them and they stopped to let her catch up to them.
Huffing and puffing, Melody reached them, swearing under her breath. "Would you wait up?" Gemini's face scrunched up in rage and Lyra sent a warning look her way.
Shaking her head, the coppery haired girl ran her fingers down her sore wrist. "So the plan is we run down the corridor after this one," she pointed down the hallway to their left. "which should lead us back to the great hall and we distract the death eaters-"
Melody cut her off. "Wait, wait, so we're running back towards them? What was that epic escape for then?"
Gemini glared angrily at her. "You mean epic fail?" She looked towards her sister. "How'd we get stuck with this one? I much preferred Noelle. She was terrible at impersonating the glorious queen Melody."
Melody retuned her glare sourly as Lyra hung her head, shame and sorrow flooding into her expression, weaving itself through her once happy face. Once, years ago. Gemini knew not to say anything more, knowing that Lyra blamed herself for Noelle's demise and arguing would only make it worse.
Melody decided to open her big mouth again. "This is a stupid plan, what kind of leader are you? I worry you're going to get us all killed. That's what you're doing, aren't you? You killed Noelle and now I'm stuck here and I-" no more was said as Gemini's fist was sent flying into the brown haired girl's face, sending her flying into the wall and landing with a heavy thud.
Gemini snickered until she noticed Lyra's unamused expression. She stared at her a few moments before she turned to her, her back to Melody. "Sensing some disapproval from the almighty Lyra." She finally frowned.
Rolling her eyes, Lyra opened her mouth to speak before she closed it upon hearing sudden footsteps. As she rose up on her tiptoes, attempting to peer over Gemini's shoulder though it was no use as Gemini, being 5'10, was far too tall compared to her being 5'4 at best.
Gemini quickly turned on her heel, letting Lyra have room to see what was going on as well. Though what was heard next sent both their hearts plummeting.
"Avada Kedavra!"
Melody was dead.
